The purpose of the role is:
To help the business maximise revenue by managing and improving our online content across merchant brand websites, providing a richer customer experience and demonstrating breadth and depth of product offering.
The key activities of the role are to:
  • Manage the taxonomy of the websites to ensure products are categorised correctly and located where customers expect to find them, including improvements to site search functionality.
  • Improve the quantity, quality and accuracy of all website content includingproduct data and imagery as well as ensuring web content is legally compliant.
  • Support the Marketing team by adding seasonal, campaign or promotional related content that contributes towards campaign objectives.
  • Understand online customer journeys and the associated branch administration, identify and resolve gaps in process and potential failures in service.
  • Resolve branch and customer day-to-day issues with the website.
  • Work with the IT solutions team to manage website development projects and deliver a first class user experience across all devices and technologies.
  • Design and build web pages that contain customer information or support marketing campaigns.
  • Involvement in the management of group Amazon stores.
  • Search Engine Optimisation of the websites in order to improve search rankings and drive traffic.
Including management of page titles, tags and header blocks
Keyword Optimisation, ensuring that related terms being searched for by customers on search engines are used within the site to drive seasonal and trending traffic.
Link Building, ensuring that suppliers and relevant directories have the correct links to our sites
  • Pay Per Click Campaigns. Manage any PPC campaigns in support of site launches and marketing campaigns. Understanding keywords and creating/amending landing pages to maximise conversion rate.
  • Use Google Analytics and Google Search Console to understand what brings customers to our site and which links convert best and which pages need improving in order to improve conversion rate. To produce reporting where necessary
  • Additional activity as requested by your manager as appropriate.

The ideal candidate:
  • Shows great attention to detail and offers a structured and organised approach to projects.
  • Experience using and managing Content Management Systems
  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Experience of working in web, e-commerce and/or digital marketing environments
  • Demonstrates calmness, confidence and perseverance in demanding situations.
  • Full UK driving licence and own transport is needed as the role will require sometravel to different GMGB locations.
