Missions - Mission money is collected on Fridays from LES students and on Sundays from Sunday School students. Our 3rd quarter mission is the Kids’ Connection, a kid version of the WELS Connection. Offerings will help support the production of this DVD that is viewed each month at chapel service. Our school has been featured in some of their segments. Total collected so far: $406.65.

Classroom Cleaning – We have room for one more family to clean tonight. Those already signed up to help are: Balcerak, Bratz, Dellevar, Leifer, Marlowe, Tonn, and Weber. Please report to the PreK hallway, sign in, and see the PreK teachers for job assignments tonight at 6:00 p.m. This cleaning will satisfy your cleaning obligation for the 2008-2009 school year.

Theme Day – Our theme day for February is Pajama/Robe/Slippers Day on Tuesday, February 10. This is a change from the original Theme Day Calendar. Students can wear their pj’s and may bring one stuffed animal with them to school for the day.

PreKindergarten & Kindergarten Registration – Registration for St. Paul’s members will take place at the Open House & Registration this Sunday, February 8 from 1:00-2:30 p.m. Community registration is from 2:30-4:00 p.m. on that Sunday as well. Kindergarten registration packets were distributed to all 4K students, or pick one up in the office. PreK registation materials are available from Mrs. Drska. If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Drska regarding PreK (414-422-0320, ext. 144) or Mrs. Kuehl regarding Kindergarten (ext. 147).

Kindergarten Visitation Day – All Kindergarteners-to-be will have a chance to experience what Kindergarten is like during Visitation Day to be held on Friday, February 20 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. This is for next year’s (2009-2010) Kindergarteners. A registration form is included in the Kindergarten registration packet, or pick one up in the office. All current Kindergarteners will meet in the afternoon (12:00-3:00 p.m.) on February 20.

Extended Care – There is no school for St. Paul’s on February 5 and 6 but Extended Care will be available for children that are pre-registered. Children that are not registered in writing will not be allowed in Extended Care on “no school days”. Pick up a registration form in Extended Care or contact Mrs. Drska (, 414-422-0320, ext. 144) or Mrs. Bourdo (, 414-422-0320, ext. 146).

St. Paul’s Team Wear Orders – Orders for Track and Wrestling are due today, February 4th. Please have your order into the office or to me. Thanks, Coach Petraske.

St. Paul’s Wrestling – This year's season will begin on February 7th (Saturday) at 10:00 until 11:30 a.m. We will have a parents meeting that morning. This year, the team will be expanding their Christian calling through outreach. The first three Saturdays in February (7th, 14th, 21st)will be "Bring a Friend to Practice". If you have a friend or relative in your neighborhood who does not attend St. Paul's school or church and would like to join us at practice, we will open our doors to them. They must be in third grade or higher and accompanied by an adult or guardian. I know that there is no school February 5th and 6th and that some families will not be home to participate on the 7th. We will have another parents meeting on Tuesdaythe 9th at the beginning of practice. This year's practice schedulewill be every Tuesday and Thursday starting at 5:45 until 7:30 p.m. See you there.

Annual Chicken Dinner– This year’s Congregational Chicken Dinner will be held on Sunday, February 15 from 10:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the school gym. Please join us for fellowship and great food. The menu includes fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, green beans, rolls, applesauce, cranberries and awesome homemade pies and desserts. Carry-outs are available. To pre-order please call the church office by 2:00 p.m. on February 13th. A great way to enjoy to the day is to become part of the festivities by volunteering or donating food. Volunteer opportunities are available for both adults and 6th-8th grade students (service project). Please sign up in the church narthex or call Andrea Kain (262-682-4376).

Attention all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders!! – Do you still need credit on your Service Project? We are looking for a few patient students to assist members in logging in to take the Reveal Survey in the school computer lab on Sunday, February 15. One-hour shifts will be available starting at 10:00 a.m. and ending at 2:00 p.m. If interested, please contact Mary Gaspervich ()to sign-up.

Girl Pioneers – All Girl Pioneers are encouraged to come wrap silverware and help set tables on Saturday, February 14 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. for Sunday’s Chicken Dinner in the school gym. Thank you, Jane Schwartz.

Parking - With the snow making our parking lot a bit smaller out front, please do not park around the circle on the east side of the parking lot in front of the school building. Please seethe attached sheet about parking safety.

Children’s Choir – The next time we sing is Sunday, February 15th in the 11:00a.m. service. If you will not be there for that service, please let me know (262-679-5997 or ). Please have your children memorize the song, “Jesus Name Above All Names” by that time. I will send a copy home with them. Thank you, Mrs. Benson.

Pinewood Derby/Jr. Warriors – If you didn’t get one yet, we have Pinewood Derby car kits available for $3.50. Please contact Mike Dellevar (414-427-4407) if you would like to purchase a kit. The Derby is scheduled for Saturday February 21st, and the weigh-in will be Tuesday February 17th from 6:30-8pm. If this is your first time building a car, note that cars will be turned over to us the evening of the weigh-in. We’ll keep them until after the race. There is a conflict the evening of the weigh-in with a presentation from Wisconsin Lutheran High School for the 5th and 6th graders. If you can’t make it to the weigh-in because of this, please contact Steve Wranovsky (414-235-3510, ) to make arrangements to turn in your car at an alternate time.

Read to Succeed – Read To Succeed material was sent home last week. The children need to read 6 hours of recreational reading. Schoolwork cannot be included. The children will receive a free admission coupon to Six Flags Great America for reading. Please note the dates to return. No late papers will be accepted. All papers must be returned tothe classroom teacher by February 25.

SCRIP – Taking your sweet heart out to dinner for Valentine's Day? Purchase a gift card for that restaurant through our SCRIP program and support St. Paul's while having a great meal!
