Makeup Morgue Assignment
A Makeup Morgue Book is a REFERENCE BOOKof pictures showing different facial features that can be modified by makeup application to change an individual’s features into a character’s features.
Makeup Morgue Daily Requirements: Part 1: Look for parts of the face. You are finding pictures and cutting/pasting just the pieces that you need. You must have a variety of different looking styles for each. Think about different sizes, colors, dimensions, races, and sexes. You want close-ups of each body part. Pictures should not be distorted.
-5 PICTURES OF EYES (3 must be pairs of eyes)5 PICTURES OF NOSES

-5 PICTURES OF CHINS5 PICTURES OF FOREHEADS
-All 5 pics should be on one page per body part. Pictures can be from the internet and at least 2 of your pics should be from magazines for full credit. OR you can have 2 or more color pics from internet
-Try to find a VARIETY of pictures. Each section should have at least 2 different races represented and both male and female represented. You want to crop out the bodies or extra scenery if they exist.
Part 2: Find HEAD SHOTS of people from the following categories:
5Old Age Makeup Pictures – makes an actor into an elderly character, look for pictures of REALold people where their face has some type of personality, good or evil, find both male and female pics, close-up HEAD SHOTS(10pts)
5Youth Makeup Pictures – makes an actor look younger, find 3 pictures of children no older than 10, 3 pictures of teens (13-18), and 3 pictures of babies (newborns to about 2 years old, all should be close-up HEAD SHOTS(18pts)
5Everyday Makeup Pictures – makes an actor look like themselves, average- look for pictures of people from age 16-40, find both male and female pics, these should be close-up HEAD SHOTS(10pts)
5Glamour Makeup Pictures– makes an actor look sophisticated and worldly, look for celebrities, socialites, or people in the media- look for male and female pics, these should be close-up HEAD SHOTS(10pts)
5Fantasy Makeup Pictures – makes an actor into a non-human character, these are pictures of animals, cartoons or fantasy creatures, you need a variety- do not make all pictures in one style only, Pics can be head shots OR full body(10pts)
5Gory Makeup Pictures – makes an actor into a cut, bruised or otherwise disfigured character, look for photos of people getting hurt, violence, people with real bruises, cuts, black-eyes, or wounds, close-up face OR body part pics(10pts)You DO NOT need magazine pics for this category if you can’t find any.
Other than Gory Pics and Fantasy, all of these should be head shots.Pictures should be close-ups of faces and not distorted. 2-3 pics per page. At least 2 pics MUST BE from magazines (EXCEPT GORY).
Make-up Morgue book needs the following as well:
- Dividers for each section (12 sections) Each divider should have the category name of the group of pictures that
will follow it. You are allowed to make them as creative as you want. These can be real dividers or made up ones (12 pts.)
- Cover Page which should include your Name, Class name (not block #), the title of Make-up Morgue, theDate, and
Mr. Stewart, Leader’s Name (5-6pts)
- Organization- Morgue Book should be stapled neatly or in a binder. Do not turn in a 2 pocket folder unless fastened.
Keep your morgue in the order in which things are listed above. (15pts)
Actors Only - Cover Picture of your face plain which means without make-up or very little make-up, hair pulledback away from face, no hats or head gear, or no big jewelry. Your picture should look like a blank canvas in which various make-up designs could go on.
