As a Mental Health Counselor, my training is equivalent to that of a clinical social worker. I am eligible for a limited permit with the credential of MHC-LP, while I accrue the 3,000 hours under supervision necessary for licensure as a LMHC. In my clinical training, I have gained knowledge of psychopathology, counseling techniques, psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, multicultural counseling, legal and ethical issues, grief and trauma, assessment, research and program evaluation, group counseling, health psychology, and addiction and chemical dependency.
Include what you like about the agency/center and show how your skills (through education and internships) are specific to the position description and qualifications
In addition, I have experience providing psychotherapy at an outpatient substance abuse treatment facility, particularly with individuals involved in the criminal justice system. I have worked with adolescents and adults, and individuals with dual diagnoses. In addition, I have conducted comprehensive psychosocial assessments and have experience working with severely mentally ill individuals at a psychiatric rehabilitation PROS day program, similar to the population at Fountain House. Furthermore, I have five years of experience assisting a neurologist in private practice with administrative, insurance, and patient care matters.
Closing paragraph: summarize why you are a good fit for this position
I am a conscientious and hardworking individual who is passionate about psychotherapy and am looking to further my clinical experience and work towards licensure under supervision of a psychologist.
