Ulster:

-Study published in Dec based on students’ work with clilstore.

-There has been a conference on communities of practice, results from TOOLS were presented here and the project fits very well in with the theme and astounded at how well project meets the criteria of communities of practice.

-There is a need to source more authentic materials, Irish language broadcaster have archives available in various formats, hard to access material which is not always digitalized, permission will be asked for, to take off air recordings to use as units, and to create current units.

-The meeting with the director went well, and work to create an interface making material available online for learning context will be made available in cooperation with C. end of Feb.

-There was an event at the Uni; end of level study day, students of Irish as level, sessions for the day on enrichment and composition with a dedicated session with ipads, students had opportunity to use clilstore units in class. Ease of use was an eye opener, and students enjoyed the availability of online dictionaries, and teachers were impressed, had an impact.

-March training workshops, network of colleges and unis collaborate creating syllabus for teaching Irish, using the network to create workshops. One in Limerick with 23 teachers, good reception, Drumcondra with about18 participants from 6 different institutions.

-Planning locations for WS in England, hopefully in London and Bristol in May.

-Text scrolling area fits the size of the screen.

-Some dictionaries only worked with a “head word”, break through using a hunspell spell check, which can work with lemmatization.

-More dictionaries added, especially some more choices for the less taught languages e.g. Lithuanian to GaelicIrish.

-Clilstrore can now store files attached to units. Pdf, word html etc. Upload now possible with a 1 MB limit per upload, huge step forward. Stored in a server. An automatic downsizing of pictures over the limit of 1mb will be automatically downsized in the unit.

-Dissemination, courses and WS last summer for students and teachers. Especially Scottish Gaelic liked it. The middle users, got a lot of use for the units, the advanced did not need to use the dictionaries. Clicks measured per learners, the mid learners had most clicks. Basic prof, had problems with sound only, better with transcripts.

Suggestions for changes in clilstore

-when you save a new unit, when you publish the unit, you should be taken directly to the actual unit..

-add on: clear all should also implement a restore of the columns

-add on: when you log in with password, taken to :successfully logged in; why not actually be taken to the actual page..

-Clear all; only clears filtering options- would like it to restore completely. The word clear all is misleading- it means clear filter- change clear all to clear filter, restore will be called restore columns

Presentation of clilstore improvements and coming improvements:

-Columns now can be clicked to change the order :Sort option

-Resize to fit screen automatically

-New facility, for all the project languages, and also added for the languages that have been possible to find; lemmatization added, works well for regular nouns. Irregulars are more difficult.

-Problem when hitting the go back arrow, creates problem, a fix is being worked on.

-Upload facility for files. Create a file, then go to button, type filename OF FILE, then the file will be accessed through a button..

-To remove file, delete the button, THEN the file

-Upload facility is being worked on as we speak, making it easier to upload files and deleting them.

-Add pictures function will be made easier

-Add buttons, when all buttons are full, go back to edit, then there will be an option to add one more button. Limited number of buttons due to safety of the unit, will become unstable if too many buttons at this stage

-Clone a unit’s function: normally clone your own units,

-Now fully functioning in regards to ted.com, now possible to copy embed codes from mobile devices

Walkthrough of information needed for the Final Report (content part): Kent

- drop box final report document

-Ahead of schedule

-Still need to run some online courses/webinars on how to author units in clilstore for teachers of 1) Arabic 2) Lithuanian. The rest is KAs responsibility

-We will work together on the online courses, Anna and KA have spoken about a possibility for a solution on Wednesdays agenda

-The final report must be extraordinary, remember to document all your work

Documentation needed:

-Reuse information from intermediary report

-All have a version each, everything you write from now must be in red, so KA can see it’s an add on

-Giving information

-Declaration for the beneficiary , CEO will sign

–Transnational exploitation by C x 2

–Implementation KA will write

–Update the work plan done by KA

Dissemination and exploitation

-make sure all figures are in

-all is documented so far

-will transfer fro earlier reports

-courses are exploitation, can go both ways, but dissemination is knowledge about what is happening exploitation is using it, and long term use

-deadline 1stJuly

-unless you have any substantial activity at end of June, let Kent know

-mid June deadline to complete

-Each team has their own document available in drop box, write in red, start now, as anything that is ready now, add it straight away.

Financial management and financial documentation needed for the Final Report (also in case of an audit): Lajla Pedersen and Jørgen Seeberg

-Jørgen Seeberg, presenting the financial administrative tasks

-Main presentation by Lajla – controller

-Details regarding individual partners will be dealt with individually

-Some partners need to send in employment contracts

-Boarding passes need to be sent in

-Budget, travel and accommodation slightly under the budget, operation al and staff costs approaching the limit, make some adjustments.

-To do list from partners, made by Lajla, need to address: staff days, daily salary, (depreciation rules=e.g. when you buy an ipad, the depreciation can be written off.)

Individual consultations with each team regarding the financial documentation expenditure, eligibility of costs occurred etc.: Lajla Pedersen and Jørgen Seeberg

Evaluation of pilot courses and lessons learned

-pilot courses feedback, theoretical insight to CLIL was too long for the course in Aalborg

-however others have specifically asked for theoretical presentation

-Helle started with hands on an academically participants and discussions of theory with good success

-Amount of people important, variations of time dependent on number of participants and content

-There has not been time in 3 hr. courses to Hot Potatoes exercises, Ulster has given exercises of using already created Hot Potatoes exercises, and uploading them to drop boxetc.

-Portugal many theoretical questions

-SMO quick explanations as introductions as to the background of clilstore and then a course with assisting participants on the use of clilstore. Smo need to state in the report that the courses were blended courses.

-Helle: would like to add a module, for interested parties in the technical aspects of clilstore, inserted as an option for advanced features.

-Admin should be able to contact the users, but extra questions and features etc should not be added to the clilstore unit author page.

-Perhaps Rasa could add the advanced feature on the Lithuanian courses?

Each team presented the plans for the final courses, remember the target numbers of teachers (80 per partner).

-Rasa . courses, 80 participants will be reached courses planned after Easter

-Content of courses and how to deliver, dependent on audience.

-Smo 80 participants of trainee teachers, will be a challenge. Approx. 8 courses pr partner. Some online courses can be allocated to SMO if needed to supplement for the difficulty in finding participants

-Portugal would like to reach out and carry out some of the courses on the islands

-Student teachers are also a goal

-Money left over from travel has been given permission to use for exploitation, e.g. Helle given courses in Sweden etc. if other teams are thinking of doing this, send KA a message first so he can ask for permission.

-ULSTER target ok. Over 60n at the moment, 6 intensive training courses at this point

-Helle 74 as of yet, 4 courses, all Arabic teachers from DK have participated in clilcourses

-Valencia, Malta courses, check up on numbers of participants and find the participant lists, 150 participants in ict WS

Quality Management, check on milestones met. Quality control of achievements. Feedback to the partnership from the external evaluator. (Angelica): Kent

-Angelica: very good results

-Added value ;technology is progressing, works very well, and quick, product that you can sell if it was not coupyleft, works very well, major achievement, very happy with the work and achievement of the actual platform, as it was necessary and hard work. User friendly.

-Impact extraordinary achievement: compared to other projects, websites number of visitors, beneficiaries numbers are high, very demanding and ambitious, impact is even higher than planned.

-Hope this will be among the best practices and invited to give a presentation

-Propose questionnaires to have fresh data and comments from personal development of new skills and institution etc. questions are used and can be used in the final report, so it is not extra work.

- Angelica has created qualitative Qs so she can make statistics in the evaluation report

-If you are not able to comment on one of the Qs, leave it blank

-Last question, (16) split up unto two questions

Sustainability of the outcomes. Proposals for ensuring the future exploitation of the TOOLS results: Rasa

-Most important part of a final meeting,

-Use of outcomes in new projects

-Should never end with the proposal of a new project.. this is not the target, but the results being exploited is a great additional value

-The product of the project is already being exploited as we speak.

-Write concrete details in the final report about actual exploitation

-SDE Sustainability plan going to contact ministry of education, author used for EMU case studies, downloadable videos etc., but no embed code, so we will contact them to gain access to these embed codes

-Future use of an educational innovation project at uni of Valencia

-Integral part of the syllabus of each of the subjects

-Ulster, undergraduate degree, series of core modules, fully task based assessment, one of the tasks is based around using of clilstore and sourcing authentication of authentic materials to be used in clilstore.

-CLIL4U project: Course material for content teachers need to get certification, the course material will be put through the clilstore

-The blog should continue after the project, so long as it continues to be useful. Partners are welcome to send in articles. Blog can continue to be a source for articles through the languages.dk site
