INTRODUCTION

Dr Ashish Davalbhakta is the Founder and Managing director of Aesthetics Medispa.He is a Board certified Aesthetic Plastic Surgeon. He specialised in Cosmetic Surgery after extensive training in Reconstructive and Plastic Surgery in the India, UK and USA. He pursued specialist training in the world-renowned Plastic Surgery units at Chelmsford and Cambridge, UK. He has worked as a consultant in the South Manchester University NHS Trusts’ Hospitals and in various other capacities in the National Health Service of UK for eight years. He has been awarded the membership of various international organizations of repute, including the International Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and Association of Plastic Surgeons of India. Currently he is serving as the National Secretary of Indian Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons of India.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE INSTITUTE

-  To provide training to the plastic surgeons in the field of Aesthetic Surgery

Aims, Objectives Desirability of the Fellowship Course:

At the end of the Fellowship in Aesthetic Surgery, the surgeon should be able to:

·  Recognizes the exact place as well as importance of aesthetic problems and needs in the context of the health priorities of the country

·  Practice the specialty of aesthetic surgery in keeping with the principles of professional ethics

·  Identify social, economic, biological and emotional determinants of aesthetic surgery

·  Know the therapeutic, rehabilitative, preventive and promotional measures to provide holistic care to clients

·  Take detailed history, judge client’s mental makeup, perform full physical examination and make a clinical diagnosis

·  Order and interpret relevant investigations (Imaging and laboratory)

·  Perform and interpret important diagnostic procedures

·  Diagnose conditions based on the analysis of history, physical examination and investigative work up

·  Prepare a plan of management or alternative plans. In case of multiple aesthetic needs, he prepares a master plan and executes them in stages

·  Demonstrates communication skills of a high order, in explaining these plans to the clients in a simplest way so it helps them choose one most suitable. Utilizes the same communication skills during consultation, progress narration and community education

·  Develop skills as aself-directedlearner, recognize continuing educational needs, use appropriate learning resources and critically analyze relevant published literature in order to practice evidence based medicine

·  Manage emergencies efficiently and handle unforeseen situations and complications safely

·  Demonstrate skills in documentation of case details as well as of morbidity and mortality data

·  Advise measures of preventive aesthetics

Duration of the course: 12 months

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION

M Ch (Plastic Surgery)/ DNB (Plastic Surgery)/ equivalent foreign qualification /MS(General Surgery) with 10 years experience in exclusive Plastic Surgery (to be decided by scrutiny committee.

METHOD OF SELECTION

Eligible candidates satisfying above criteria will be called for an interview. The interview date will be notified. The selection will be based on resume of the candidate, references and the performance in the interview. The decision of the interview board will be final.

EMOLUMENTS

The candidates enrolled for training for Fellowship courses will be designated as Residents. They will be paid a stipend of maximum Rs 40,000/- per month.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and responsibilities of the candidates enrolled shall be fixed by the institute from time to time. They will be required to perform such work, as may be needed in the legitimate interest of the patient care in the hospital. All rules framed in this regard by the institute will be final. At the end of every six months each Resident will be assessed and in case his/her performance is not satisfactory, his/her registration may be cancelled and no extension for Residency will be given.

ATTENDANCE

The candidate should attend minimum of 80 percent of lectures, lecture demonstrations, bed side clinics, case presentation, faculty lectures, symposiums, seminars and journal clubs. Each candidate will maintain a performance record book. During the course duration, Residents will be entitled to 10 days leaves in a calendar year. These leaves will not be carried forward. Maternity leave 90 days and paternity leave of one week is allowed. The Residents are not entitled to take any other leave other than mentioned above.

DATE OF JOINING

Selected candidates must join the course on the date stipulated in the letter of selection. Admission of a candidate, who fails to join the course by the date stipulated in the letter of selection, shall automatically stand cancelled/ withdrawn.

MEDICAL EXAMINATION

The selection of candidate will be subject to medical fitness. No selected candidate will be permitted to pay the fee and join the course unless declared medically fit by the Medical Board appointed by the institute. The decision of the Medical Board shall be final.

HOW TO APPLY:

A candidate seeking admission to MUHS Fellowship, must download the application and brochure from the website of the institute www.aestheticsmedispa.in. All the particulars in the application form should be filled in carefully and legibly, and sent in the enclosed cover, superscribed "MUHS FELLOWSHIP APPLICATION 2017" to Medical Director, Aesthetics Medispa, 2, Sneh Riviera, Next to Model Colony Lake, Off FC Road or Lakaki Road, Pune Maharashtra- 411016, by Registered Post, so as to reach on or before 25th of May, 2017. Incomplete applications will be rejected and no communication in this regard shall be entertained. Application fees of Rupees Five Hundred has to be submitted in the form of a bank draft in the name of “Aesthetics Medispa Pvt Ltd” and sent along with the application form. The application fee is not refundable. The Institute takes no responsibility for any delay in the receipt or loss of application in postal transit and no correspondence in this regard shall be entertained.

FEES

The selected candidate has to pay the fees as per norms of MUHS FELLOWSHIP. Currently it is 100,000/- (one Lakh only) by DD in favour of “Aesthetics Medispa Pvt Ltd”, payable at Pune.

SECURITY DEPOSIT

Refundable interest free security deposit of Rs 25000/- has to be deposited at time of selection. The deposit will be refunded one month after your final exam.

Deposit will be not be refunded in following conditions:

1. If you are discontinuing residency before your stipulated date of completion for any reason.

2. If your term has not been granted.

3. If you are disqualified from residency for any reason.

4. Any damage or loss will be recovered from your deposit.

Decision of Insitute in this regards will be final. Institute reserves right to cancel residency in case of non-payment of fees/deposit.

Note 1: Fees and other charges once paid shall not be refunded in any case and no correspondence will be entertained in this connection

Security Agreement

Discontinuation of the course after joining on the part of student for what so ever reason is deleterious for the purpose of patient care and MUHS’s purpose of serving society through preparing the professionals par excellence and hence discouraged. A registered agreement has to be signed for an amount of rupees Rs.200,000/-. Student will be liable to pay the said amount to the institute, in case he discontinues the course for whatsoever reason.

HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION

There is no hostel accommodation available at this point of time. The fellow has to make own stay arrangement, however the institute will help them to find a place in the vicinity.

INSTITUTE LIBRARY

The institute library is well stocked with all important medical books and journals. Institute internet facilities to be used for academic purpose only

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

1. Applications received after the last date will not be considered.

2. All particulars in the application form must be written carefully and legibly.

Incomplete or unsigned applications without photographs will be rejected summarily. Copies of all the attested certificate should be clear and legible. Applications with illegible copies of certificates may be rejected summarily.

3. In the event of a candidate found to have provided false information/certificate or is found to have concealed some information in her/her application form his / her registration for training will be terminated with immediate effect.

4. The decision of the Medical Director of the Institute shall be final in the matter of selection of candidates and no appeal will be entertained on this subject in this regard.

5. Any attempt on the part of a candidate to influence directly or indirectly will be treated as a disqualification.

6. The selected candidates shall have to submit original copies, Permanent Registration Certificate, Passing certificate mark sheet.

7. It will be the responsibility of the candidate to pass the final theory examination

8. Each candidate selected for registration for MUHS FELLOWSHIP shall have to pay the fee / dues within the prescribed period failing which his / her admission shall be cancelled.

9. Private practice in any form during the course is prohibited. The period of training is strictly full time and continuous.

10. The rules are subject to change in accordance with the decision of the Institute taken from time to time.

11. Any dispute in regard to any matter referred to herein shall be subject to the

Jurisdiction of Pune Courts alone.

12. All photographs must be one time latest snaps.

13. In case of dispute of any kind at any stage, the decision of the Medical Director will be final. No appeal will be entertained in such situations.

14. The selected candidates have to follow all the rules and regulations of the Institute.

15. CONFERENCE POLICY:

a) The candidate is encouraged to attend IAAPS and other aesthetic workshops

b) presenting research work at conferences is welcomed.

c) If your paper or posters are accepted in a conference, you will be given education leave for attending conference.

16. Rules for Log Book:

1. Every Fellow is required to maintain Log Book.

2. To be filled up on daily basis.

3. To be signed by head of Institute Weekly.

4. Clinical Audit of cases seen by residents independently and procedures will be done by Faculties.

5. Incomplete Log Book will be counted as absence. Hence submission of completed & certified log book to be done before 2nd of every month.

Assignments:

Two research projects will be allocated in the beginning, on which candidate needs to work and present/publish by the end of the year.

Examination Scheme

Will be conducted at the end of the term. The candidate will be expected to submit a log book. The assessment will be performed by a panel of Plastic surgeons wherein at least one examiner will be not from thein-housefaculty.
