Maharashtra IT Awards on the occasion of the 4th Maharashtra Information Technology Day 20th August, 2006.

Maharashtra Government has taken several initiatives to promote IT industry in the State. Its pro-active IT Policy has been welcomed by the industry as is evident from its growth in Maharashtra. The Government of Maharashtra celebrates “Information Technology Day” on 20th August every year to commemorate birth anniversary of the late Prime Minister of India, Shri. Rajiv Gandhi.

“Maharashtra Information Technology Awards” have been instituted from 2004, with a view to promote entrepreneurship in IT Industry in the State, recognise and appreciate outstanding performance in IT activities, encourage rapid spread & use of IT in society and as means of creating employment opportunities. The IT companies and institutions from Maharashtra are felicitated for their innovative initiatives and outstanding performance by presenting two awardees in each of the six categories viz. IT Hardware, IT Software, IT Enabled Services, IT Human Resource Development, IT Infrastructure and R & D in IT.

The Government of Maharashtra has proposed to present “Maharashtra Information Technology Awards, 2006” on the eve of “4th Maharashtra IT Day” being celebrated on 20th August, 2006.

Companies / Institutions operating in Maharashtra are invited to send their entry forms for participation. The entry forms can be downloaded url: and are also available at the Information Technology Branch, Directorate of Industries, 2nd Floor, New Administrative Building. Opp Mantralaya, Mumbai 400 032, between 11.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. The last date for receiving entries is 25th July 2005, upto 1700 hrs.
