MAD LIB PROJECT

To finish our parts of speech unit, you will be completing a set of five mad libs and put them in a book. Each mad lib should have a title and tell a story leaving a minimum of 15 blanks to be filled with the different parts of speech you have learned. Make sure each part of speech is used at least once for each story; after that, the remaining blanks are yours to choose and be creative. Use color and thematic illustrations to make your Mad Libs fun and interesting. Have fun with this project, but don’t get behind.

This project is due FRIDAY, DECEMBER 19TH. If you know you will be gone before that day, you will need to turn it in early.

Your Mad Lib book must include the following items:

A creative cover with a title & name

Five Mad Libs (Minimum)

Each Mad Lib must be typed or printed VERY neatly – Use Color!!

Each Mad Lib must have a title for the story

Each Mad Lib must have a minimum of 15 blanks to complete

You must include all eight different parts of speech in each mad lib: Noun, Pronoun, Adjective, Verb, Adverb, Preposition, Conjunction, and Interjection.

The rest of the seven blanks are “free choice” (Ex. A person’s name, a hobby, etc.)

There must be colorful illustrations on the mad libs.

They must be bound together (three hold punch with ribbon or string, put in a binder, etc.)

Include the rubric in the book

Use this as a check list. A good way to start is to write a short story and then cross out 15 words. You will put blanks where those words used to be. Then write the part of speech below the line. For example ______
verb ending in -ing
