TASTER TRIAL 29 April 2018

SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS

1. The M.G. Car Club, Midland Centre will organize a “TASTER” single venue CAR TRIAL.The event principally targets newcomers and young drivers who have not yet competed in a clubman passenger car trial, minimum age 14, per MSA rule T4.1.3. See Indemnity form. Instruction will be given by experienced drivers, with practice on introductory sections and special tests and also road cars that need testing/exercising. If time permits there will be a short competition. Sunday 29th April 2018 at East Lodge Farm, Fox Lane, Bromsgrove B61 7EF. Off the A38/A448.Midway between J4A and J5 of the M5. Map Ref: SO 943698.

2The event will be held under the general regulations of the Motor Sports Association Ltd (incorporating the provisions of the International Sporting Code of the FIA), the Supplementary Regulations, and any written instructions issued for the event.

5All coachingand experienceddrivers from the MGCC and invited clubs must produce a valid paid up club membership card. MSA insurance cover depends on a valid club membership card. You will not be allowed to do instruction if you cannot produce your club card.

6Novice Drivers who are not club members must complete the entry form, stating so and will be covered by the MSA rules for a taster event.

7.If the car has an MOT certificate - the scrutineer needs to see it. Scrutineering is a basic check on steering, foot-brake, hand-brake, seats, doors, boot, bonnet, no protruding bodywork, no leaking fuel.

8.The programme of the meeting will be :- Scrutineering begins at 0900 hrs.

The event starts with a mandatory briefing at 10:30.

Aim to finish by 16:30

9Public roads will NOT be used to link sections. All sections will be on private land. Details will be issued in final instructions/signing on. The entry will be split into groups of (in)experience and start at different sections. There will be several rounds of the sections. Any other information will be conveyed in the Final Instructions sent about a week before the trial.

10In a competition the entry is normally divided into eight classes. For this event which is principally an ‘arrive and drive’ fun day where the format is instructive rather than competitive that distinction does not apply. The instructors will provide one on one help, advice and demonstration to each driver.

11.Experienced drivers who wish to independently assess their own cars must advise the entry taker of their intent.

12.Cameras: 2017 edition of MSA Blue Book allows fixed cameras; ref J5.21.4 , The scrutineer will check mounting arrangement, no suction pads allowed.

This is not a competitive event so awards will be at the discretion of the organisers.

Best experienced driver

Best first-timer

Most improved first-timer on the day.

14The entry list opens on publication of these Regulations and closes first post on 14th April

2018

The entry fee is £20 and £15 for drivers under 21.

Note that dual entries in a single car are encouraged

16The maximum entry for the meeting is 35, the minimum is 15. Should the above not be reached the organizers reserve the right to cancel the meeting, otherwise classes may be amalgamated. Entries may be refunded less £4 up until a week before.

18 Results will be published as soon as possible on the day

20Starting numbers will be issued at the start/signing-on.

21A mandatory speed limit applies between sections of 15mph. Public footpaths run alongside the venue so please stop and give way to any wandering hikers

22No litter to be dropped.

23Refreshments and toilets will be available on site (see Final Instructions).

24Entry acknowledgement & Final Instructions via e-mail, or upon inclusion of SAE’s, (So make a note in your diary).
