q  Turn on the computer and display by pressing each respective power button.

q  Press the "Computer 1" button located in the NEC Remote Control while pointed towards the LCD projector.

q  Press the "Computer 2" button located in the NEC Remote Control while pointed towards the LCD projector.

q  The laptop screen will be projected to the SMARTBoard.

On the Laptop

q  The laptop screen may not automatically display on the SMARTBoard and may require you to change a setting on the laptop. First, on the keyboard, look for the "Fn" key and then a corresponding function key (starts with an F and then a number) with "CRT/LCD" or similar image on it. On Dell notebooks, that function key is "F8”. Below, we will use the "F8" key as an example.

q  Press and hold down "Fn" and "F8" keys once simultaneously and release them. Then, the laptop screen should show up on the SMARTBoard.

q  Not a step, but very important to know: If you press and hold down "Fn" and "F8" keys together once and release them and then do the process a second time, the laptop screen will disappear from the laptop and only show on the SMARTBoard. Not to worry! Just wait 2-3 seconds and do the same process again and it will only show on the laptop, not the SMARTBoard. Then, do the same process again and it will show on both screens.

q  The laptop screen should be projected to the SMARTBoard.
