SARAH RODGERS* Director

Sarah is thrilled to be back at her favourite summer job. Sarah began her career at Theatre Underthe Stars appearing in Thoroughly Modern Millie as Mrs. Meers and then went on to direct for the next five seasons: Anything Goes; Music Man; How to Succeed in Business Without ReallyTrying; Shrek the Musical and now the delightful musical Hairspray. Next up: Sarah will bedirecting: Smoke on the Mountain (Pacifi c Theatre); The Tenant of Wildfell Hall (UBC); Off Leash(Fugue Theatre); Dressing for a Wedding (Solo Collective), A Christmas Carol Radio Play (Pacific Theatre) and Pride and Prejudice (Arts Club Stanley Theatre). Sarah received her MFA from The University ofBritish Columbia.

CHRIS D. KING Music Director

Christopher King is so excited to be working on Hairspray as Music Director and as Corny Collins.He has wanted to attempt this challenge for a long time and is so happy that Hairspray is theperfect show for it. This is his 6th show at TUTS as Music Director and his 4th show as an actor.He was last seen on stage as Reuben in Joseph (2002), and was Music Director for Shrek theMusical last year. This May, he played The Baker in the well-received production of Into TheWoods with Fighting Chance Productions. He was nominated and has won several Ovation

Awards for his work and most recently he was nominated for Best Music Direction for Crazy for You at GatewayTheatre. Christopher was Music Director for Oklahoma (Studio 58), Triumph of Love (UBC), and performedin Chariot Cities (Vancouver Fringe) this last year. His original musical Shevil - Mistress of Evil will have itsprofessional debut this July at the Toronto Fringe.

ALEN DOMINGUEZ Assistant Director

Alen is thrilled to be back at Malkin Bowl with such a wonderful show and surrounded bysuch a talented group of performers. He’s appeared on stage around town and lately has beenapprenticing under stylin’ director Sarah Rodgers. He is incredibly grateful to her for yet anotherlearning opportunity. Previous AD credits: The Duchess for Ruby Slippers and How to Succeedin Business… for TUTS. Alen holds a BFA from UBC. Enjoy the beautiful night under the starsand dance along!

KEVIN WOO Assistant Music Director

This is Kevin’s 16th season with TUTS and his 21st show with the company! He studied clarinetat UBC out of high school and has been performing with various theatre companies throughout

the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley since. Kevin’s favourite part about TUTS is working withthe fantastic people who have become his family. Some of his favourite scores and shows: WestSide Story (RCMT, TUTS x2), Fiddler on The Roof (RCMT, Footlight), The Story Of My Life (BestFriends Theatre Co-Op), Shrek the Musical (Align, CSOPA, TUTS) and Crazy For You (Gateway).Kevin would like to thank Chris King for all of the great opportunities!

MICHELLE BARDACH - Dynamite

Michelle is a graduate of the Musical Theatre program at Capilano University. Recent credits include Eponine in Les Miserables (Chemainus), Hope Cladwell in Urinetown (Firehall), Kate McGowan in Titanic(TUTS), and Star-To-Be in Annie (RCMT). She won the 2012 Ovation Award for Outstanding SupportingActress for her role as Esther in Riverview High (Entrance Theatre), and she was also awarded the 2012 Aida

Broadbent Award for her performance in Titanic. She is a Co-Founder/Co-Producer of Springboard TheatreProductions. Up next, Michelle will be performing in Western Canada Theatre’s workshop of Children ofGod. Check out michellebardach.com for more details.

HENRY BEASLEY - Brad

Henry is thrilled to be returning to Malkin Bowl for another summer. A recipient of the 2013 CherylHutcherson Newcomer OVATION Award, Henry is a recent graduate of Capilano University’s MusicalTheatre program. GEORGIA BEATY - Prudy Pingleton/Gym Teacher/Matron

Georgia feels extremely privileged and excited to be performing with Theatre Under the Stars this summer,alongside such a wonderful cast, crew and creative team. She was last seen playing a variety of charactersin The Duchess (Ruby Slippers). Other recent credits include: Anna in Iceland (Dirt Road Productions/Presentation House), Truance in Ketchup (Sum Theatre Pull Festival) and Rita in Cocktails at Pam’s

(Staircase XI Theatre). Georgia is a graduate of UBC and the Canadian National Voice Intensive.

LYNDSEY BRITTEN - Ensemble/Hooker #1/Cindy Watkins

Lyndsey is thrilled to be returning for another summer with TUTS! She has an extensive background indance training from the Caulfi eld School of Dance. An aspiring choreographer, Lyndsey has spent the past five years working with the students of Gleneagle Secondary’s Musical Theatre program. Recent

BRIANNA CLARK - Ensemble

Brianna is thrilled to be back for another summer at TUTS! She will be entering Grade 10 at Little FlowerAcademy and is also an accomplished pianist. Favorite past performances include: The King and I(Gateway), Music Man (TUTS), Joseph (RCMT), Cinderella (Metro) and numerous Fraser Valley Gilbert &Sullivan Society productions. Daniel is ecstatic to be joining this year’s productions of Hairspray! A BFA student at UBC, he is excited toshare his passion for music and performing. SOPHIA CURALLI - Brenda/Ensemble

Sophia is always excited to ‘take the stage’ and her musical theatre debut in Hairspray at TUTS is noexception! She has spent over a decade competing and performing as a ballet and contemporary dancer,most recently as a member of CatchingART. A solo vocalist from the age of ten, she has performed classical,jazz and contemporary music in restaurants, churches and at gala events. She thanks God, her teachersat Pro Art. for inspiration, her family and friends for their guidance and support and the TUTS team for

CECILLY DAY - Motormouth Maybelle

Cecilly is over the moon to be returning to Vancouver and debuting on the TUTS stage as MotormouthMaybelle! Cecilly has been coming to Theatre Under the Stars since she was a little girl starting withOklahoma in 1998. She is a graduate of the University of Victoria theatre program. Past credits include:

DAREN DYHENGCO - Cameraman/Ensemble

Daren is a recent graduate of the Musical Theatre program at Capilano University. This is his debut at TUTSand he is very excited to be part of this year’s production of Hairspray! Dustin has also enjoyed teachingand assisting young artists at Bard on the Beach’s Young Shakespeareans program as well as Carousel’s drama classes foryoung people. Dustin is a graduate of Studio 58.

MARISA GOLD - Little Inez

Marisa Gold, a professional dancer, choreographer and instructor, has a passion for all things soulful. Influenced by her Canadian-African American roots, her artistry and creativity has been featured atvarious local venues and events. She recently played Rita Marley in Lovers of Marley, a local performance

produced by Vanessa Young. Marisa holds a BFA in Dance from SFU, and when she is not performing sheenjoys inspiring young dancers to express themselves through movement. Marisa is making her theatricaldebut as Little Inez and is excited to be part of Hairspray!

TENANYE HAGLUND - Lorraine/Ensemble

Tenanye is so excited to be playing the part of Lorraine in the TUTS production of Hairspray! She hasbeen dancing since the age of seven and is an avid performer in her school’s show choir. This is her firstshow outside of high school and she is happy that her theatre debut will be made in one of her favourite

musicals. Tenanye would like to thank her directors, choreographer, and fellow cast mates for being suchan amazing team and making this a truly memorable summer. She hopes you all enjoy the show andremember that ‘you can’t stop the beat!’

RAYLENE HAREWOOD - Gilberta/Hooker #3/Ensemble

Raylene is thrilled to be making her debut at Theatre Under the Stars as a part of Motormouth Maybelle’sensemble in Hairspray. She has had the pleasure of appearing as Little Inez in Rainbow Stage’s 2011production of Hairspray starring alongside George Wendt. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Raylene movedto Vancouver to pursue an acting career and is currently studying at Studio 58. She would like to thank herfamily, friends and teachers for all their love and support. Welcome to the Sixties!

NATHALIE JOYAL - Beatnik/Ensemble

Nathalie is thrilled to be making her TUTS debut in Hairspray! She’s excited to be returning to the musicaltheatre stage, appearing last spring as Duff y in Annie (RCMT). Nathalie trains at Vanleena Dance Academyand Alida Vocal Studio. She would like to thank her amazing teachers for inspiring her, with special thanksto Chelsea Read for igniting her passion for musical theatre. Nathalie has loved TUTS since she was a child,

In May, Chris played The Baker in Fighting Chance Productions’ well-received run of Into theWoods. His recent credits include: Truman in Chariot Cities at the Vancouver Fringe and Norman Petty in

DAVID LINDO-REID - Seaweed J Stubbs

David Lindo-Reid is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance at Sheridan Collegein Ontario as an international student from Kingston, Jamaica. David made his first stage appearance asMaurice in Jamaica Junior Theatre’s 2009 production of Beauty & the Beast and continued performing leadroles in their adaptations of Fame (2011), the title role in Hercules (2012) and as the Mad Hatter in Alice:

the Musical (2013). Simultaneously, he was a principal member of The Company Dance Theatre from 2010- 2013. David is very excited to be making his Canadian stage debut with TUTS!

GREG LIOW - Stooie/Boom Operator/Ensemble

Hairspray will mark Greg Liow’s third year in a row at TUTS. He has performed locally in over a dozenproductions both in school and in the community. Notable credits include : Georg in Spring Awakening(Fighting Chance), Shoemaker Elf in Shrek the Musical (TUTS), Ensemble in Changing Minds (Awkward

Stage), 2013 recipient of the Most Promising Dancer Award in How to Succeed (TUTS), and Snug in AMidsummer Night’s Dream (Coastal City Ballet).
