RAMS Leadership Council

The RAMS Leadership Council is an organization made up of representatives elected from each faction of the school’s educational team. Its purpose is to serve as a communicative link between staff and the administrative team. RAMS Management Council meets monthly to discuss issues, address concerns, and construct plans regarding school improvement.

RRHS Chain of Command

RRHS adheres to a chain of command procedure that greatly assists in creating solutions to interpersonal and/or educational issues. We request that staff members:

First address the issue with the person most directly involved;

If consensus is not reached, the staff member should take the problem to the assistant principal;

If consensus still is not reached, the assistant principal will schedule a meeting for all involved with the school principal.

The following has been established to generally clarify academy responsibilities and roles:

  • If you have a curricular or grading question or concern, contact the Instructional Leader or assistant principal.
  • If you have a social/emotional concern or credits concern, contact the class guidance counselor.
  • If you have an attendance issue to discuss, contact the attendance officer.
  • If you have a school security concern, contact the head of security.

A teacher will not use profanity in the presence of students or will be subject to disciplinary action.

Supervision Design

Philosophy and Design – In education, nothing has a greater impact on student achievement than what individual teachers believe, know, and do. This is why the efficacy of the teacher has such an impact on improving student performance. Employed at RRHS are all levels of teachers from beginning teachers with no previous experience to intermediate and master teachers – all who can benefit from the effective linking of professional development and teacher evaluation. We believe there are important and necessary roles for all levels of educators (from principal to beginning teacher) in the continual improvement of teaching at RRHS.

The RRHS Supervision System has been designed to be a reflective process engaging teachers in continuous improvement of their classroom instruction. It requires that teachers advance the instructional practice while supporting their professional growth. Ultimately as teachers search for best practice, classroom instruction improves and student achievement increases. It also provides support for novice teachers to utilize their skills, enthusiasm, and potential for effective classroom instruction. All components of the supervisory system include the examination of student results and teaching practice through individual and collegial reflection.

This system acknowledges teacher’s rights and abilities to shape their own professional development, yet it encourages them to channel their professional development efforts to support school goals as well. It cultivates a climate of openness, collegiality, and experimentation by encouraging teachers to use each other as resources for content and pedagogical knowledge so that they can improve their individual and collaborative practices. It deals with unsatisfactory teaching in ways that are clear, supportive, and decisive. It provides a high degree of support for teachers who are new or in difficulty and emphasizes support for all teachers to pursue the continuous improvement of their teaching.
