LVKBL Player Movement Document

Ideally, once a player joins an Organization, he should remain with that same Organization for the entirety of his LVKBL career. However, there are a few situations where a change of Organization is acceptable. This document is designed to assist LVKBL Organizations, Players, and Parents in understandingwhat considered acceptable reasons for player moves.

A Player will be allowed to change LVKBL Organizations if:

  • A child changes school districts.
  • A child changes schools within the same school district, provided that district has multiple LVKBL Organizations and those Organizations have a feeder-school agreement.
  • Catholic School students will be allowed to play Jr. Cadets for their local public school Organization and then transfer to their appropriate Catholic School Organization for their Cadet/KH seasons without penalty if their Catholic School affiliated Organization does not offer a Jr. Cadet team. (Note: If the child’s Catholic School is affiliated with a LVKBL Organization that does offer Jr. Cadets, this does not apply)

A Change of Organization will be denied if the reason for the request is due to:

  • A parent’s desire to have their child play for a specific (different) coach/Organization.
  • Parent arguments or disagreements with an Organization’s coaches/league directors.
  • AAU or other off-season affiliations.
  • Changes in parental custody, marital, or work status unless it affects the school the child attends.
  • Local Organization rules that limit Cadet/KH involvement to MS team participants.

NOTE: This document is meant to provide examples that cover the most common situations. This document is not intended to be all-inclusive and does not cover or address every potential situation. The Board of Control reserves the right to review unique cases and rule in a manner that is consistent with the League’s intent to keep children playing for the most appropriate Organization based upon their school and place of residence.
