Pray for growing awareness among citizens in Africa for the treasure of their traditional languages. / 2 Pray for Eshinee Veith and all of the translators in attendance at the Word for the World training in Zambia. / 3Prayer dayPray for the work and ministry of Rev. Daniel Touka, translator and consultant with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Cameroon. / 4 Pray that God would identify a translation consultant for LBTC projects, and provide the resources to secure his or her services. / 5Pray for the LBTC translators working with the Dowayo project in Poli, Cameroon. May they have patience and joy in their God-pleasing work. / 6Pray for Rev. Mike and Kara Kuhn, and their children, and for the Nizaa language translation project in Galim, Cameroon. / 7 Pray for all those considering a career in Bible translation and literacy training. May God bless their deliberations toward this God-pleasing work.
8 Pray for LBT and LBTC staff and missionaries suffering from all types of injury and illness. Pray for comfort and for effective treatments. / 9 Pray for Mackenzie Kure, childcare worker for the Kuhn family in Galim, Cameroon. / 10 Pray for safety and good health for David Federwitz as he supports and advises LBTC missionaries in Cameroon. / 11 Pray for the organizing and financing of an upcoming LBT Western Africa Spiritual Retreat for translators and their families. / 12 Pray for Tim Kuhl, Chair of the Board of Directors of LBTC, that he may exercise his office with wisdom and love / 13 Pray for Rob and Eshinee Veith, working among the Shiyeyi people (Botswana) in Bible translation and music preservation. / 14 Give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Who has called us out of darkness into His marvellous light.
15 Pray for safety for Rob and Mical Hilbert and their children as they serve in the Shekgalagari Bible translation project in Botswana. / 16 Praise God for the service of Harry Drews, LBTC office volunteer. / 17 Pray that the Komba Scriptures would continue to be accepted, used, and cherished by the Komba people in Ghana. / 18 Pray that God would continue to protect and guide the members of Historic St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, host congregation of LBTC. / 19 Thank God for the many blessings that He has bestowed upon us. Join us in thanking God for His provision to LBTC these 43+ years. / 20 Give thanks for Martin Weber and his mentorship of Aubert Kpengapse, LBTC translator working toward completion of the Old Testament in the Dowayo language. / 21 Pray for Dr. Mike Rodewald, Executive Director of Lutheran Bible Translators – USA (LBT-USA), and his family.

22Pray for LBT-USA’s missionary teams in Sierra Leone that have returned after evacuation. May God protect and guide them in 2017. / 23 Pray for missionary children who are working from home with volunteers or their parents to work through study modules. / 24 Pray for Martin and Joan Weber as they begin a Presentation and Development Tour throughout Canada. Please contact the LBTC office for stops near you. / 25 Praise God for the contributions of Tara Bradley, Accounting Supervisor and Office Manager at LBTC. / 26 Pray for the Lutheran Church of Nigeria as they hold their annual council meeting. / 27 Pray for blessings upon the Khwedam Bible translation project in Botswana, especially for the new translator, Moronga Thapelo. / 28 Praise God for the faithful service of LBTC’s mail volunteers, who help make sending communications, such as this prayer calendar, possible.
29 Pray for victims of terrorism in Cameroon, Africa, and around the world. May God grant us peace and joy. / 30 Pray for Rev. Dr. Jim Keller, Executive Director of LBTC. May God bless his efforts as he guides LBTC in 2017. / 31 Pray for LBTC staff and Directors that will travel to congregations and conventions in 2017. Pray for good connections.
