Dear Parents and/or Guardians:

I hope you are having a good beginning of spring. I am sending this letter for the upcoming statewide assessment. As per statewide mandate, the School District of Trenton City will assess their students using the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers or PARCC. This assessment is entirely computer-based. PARCC is one of two state consortia developing assessments aligned to the Common Core State Standards through the federal Race to the Top assessment grant program. Here is the schedule for the PARCC assessment at Rivera:

  • April 25th –April 27th: Self-contained 6th , 7th, and 8th grade students Math
  • April 30th-May 2nd : administration of PARCC 7th and 8th grade Math
  • May 3rd- May 7th : administration of PARCC 7th and 8th grade ELA
  • May 8th – May 10th : administration of 6th grade Math
  • May 11th – May 15th : administration of 6th grade ELA
  • May 11th-May 15th : Self-contained 6th , 7th, and 8th grade students ELA
  • May 16th – May 17th : administration of 8th grade Science
  • May 21st – May 25th : MAKE-UPS

Students have been informed that NO technology devices are permitted in testing. We will provide students with an opportunity to store their devices during assessment. Students MAY use their own earbuds for the test or they may purchase earbuds from the school for $1.00.
