Chef/ Cook

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: The post holder will support teaching and learning by assisting with the planning of menus and thepreparation and provision of food across the campus. This is a ‘hands on’ position and the successful candidate will be expected to comply with the relevant Health and Safety and Food Hygiene requirements.

ACCOUNTABILITY: Line management for the role is through the Catering Services Manager. The Business Manager has overall responsibility to the Headteacher for all Support Staff in school.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Order, prepare and cook food, ensuring food is prepared in a safe, hygienic manner following all correct procedures.
Assist in the preparation of daily menus in line with government and school policies.
Promptly report equipment shortages and maintenance issues to the Catering Services Manager in good time ensuring service continuity.

Ensure all foodstuffs are stored in a safe and controlled manner
Ensure correct standards are maintained within the food preparation and service areas.

  • The post holder will attend and participate in all appropriate meetings commensurate with the role.
  • Continuing professional development and participation in the staff review system are requirements of the role.
  • It is the responsibility of drivers who need to use their vehicles for work related purposes to ensure that they hold the appropriate level of insurance.

CONTRACTUAL TERMS:

Annual Arrangements:Term time plus an additional 4 weeks to include INSET

HOURS:37 hours per week Monday - Friday

SALARY:LCC EPR – 12 Grade Model – Grade 4
