44th Annual Ladies Retreat
April 13-14, 2018 Roanoke Christian Camp
Dear Ladies –
We are excited to send you the information and registration form for the annual Ladies’ Retreat at Roanoke Christian Camp in Washington on April 13 and 14, 2018. Our theme this year as you can see above is a little different from the previous 42 years. We won’t be using a song title, rather we are using a theme that our speaker, Jonita Shoaff, has developed entitled “Frog Kissin’: Loving the Unlovable and Turning them into Princes and Princesses”. I cannot think of a better topic to discuss and ponder at this particular point in time. Loving each other is the second greatest commandment, after all.
The layout of our retreat will be pretty simple. We will focus on worship, prayer, and opening our hearts and minds to the messages Jonita will share. She is a trustee at MACU and comes to us from Joppa, MD. I had the privilege of hearing her give the commencement address a couple of years ago at MACU. Greg Coverdale and friends from Two Rivers Church in New Bern will be our worship leaders. There will be special music during the Friday night session and one Saturday morning session. Servant’s Song from Plymouth, NC, will provide our Friday evening concert. We look forward to being together and taking a couple days to retreat and reflect on the goodness of God and how we can show His love to everyone.
I have enclosed the registration form, retreat poster and a tentative schedule for the retreat. Registration begins at 5:00 on Friday. Dinner will be served from 5:30-6:45 PM. Breakfast will be served at 8:00 AM on Saturday. The retreat will end Saturday at noon. Please make as many copies of the registration form as you need. Registration cost is $25.00. There is no difference in cost for pre-registering, however pre-registering ensures you will be served supper and breakfast. The registration cost will also include a t-shirt. (Indicate t-shirt sizes on the registration form.) Please have all registrations in by Wednesday, April 4, 2018. Registration at the door is an option, but we cannot guarantee that there will be enough food for those who do not pre-register.
I have also enclosed a volunteer form for different areas of the camp that need to be addressed the week before or of the retreat. Please, PLEASE send help to take care of these needs.
