Oct. 2006 – Vol. 1, Issue 1

As Loving Paws & House Sitting strides past its first year anniversary, it gives us great pleasure to extend our warmest, heartfelt gratitude for your support.

Loving Paws & House Sitting officially opened in September 2005 and has grown beyond expectation, and this has been in large part because many Pet Parents like you have shown trust in Loving Paws & House Sitting and the quality of services and care we provide. It has been an honour and privilege interacting with you inasmuch as it has been having the opportunity to care for so many little furry family friends.

For those of you who may need our services during the coming Holiday Season, our schedule is filling up and we suggest you may want to contact us soon to reserve!

With Halloween just around the corner and because we know some of you have lots of fun dressing up your furry little pets in addition to or in lieu of your own children, we would like to hold a furry Halloween costume competition. Our team of professional sitters will judge. J

To enter, simply e-mail us
your picture(s) at before day’s end on Oct. 29, 2006. The best costume winner will be crowned on Oct. 30, will win a bag of furry friendly Halloween treats, and have his/her photo prominently displayed on our website. Naturally, like any proud Pet Parent, you’ll want to encourage your family and friends to check out your new, furry Super Star at LovingPaws.ca!

We’ve recruited some highly qualified individuals to join our team of professionals, which means our service area has expanded – and if you have friends with pets in other neighbourhoods, please let them know about us; we can’t wait to meet and care for their pets.

Clare Cobb became interested in animals from a very young age and has been working with a variety of animals for most of her life. Growing up in a very animal-oriented home, she gained a vast amount of experience with many animals. Her mother spent a lot of time fostering abandoned and abused animals within their home and had so much generosity and love towards animals that it taught Clare to treat animals with the highest of respect. She feels she has a wonderful understanding of animals and their behaviour, and a strong, loving ability to interact well with them. more / Ariela Thaw is posing with her parents’ loving Staffordshire bull terrier. He has been a very joyful part of their lives for the last 6 years. She says she’s excited to have the opportunity to be part of the Loving Paws & House Sitting team because pets have the most amazing and unique personalities and she loves meeting new friends! She has been surrounded by animals her entire life: from horses and goats, to dogs and cats. She currently has one cat under her care, and might gain the company of a dog in the near future! I have been working at a mixed animal practice in Eastern Ontario for the last four and a half years. I am currently working at a small animal practice here in Ottawa. more

We understand pets are members of the family. As professional pet sitters, we recognize the importance animals play in the lives of their pet parents and other family members, which is why we strive to create and foster strong heartfelt bonds between pets, pet parents and other family members - a mission endorsed by the Human Animal Bond Association of Canada (HABAC). We do this by providing our clients (pets and pet parents) with the absolute best quality care and we strive to go above and beyond the call of duty! It is truly all the little extra things that make our services special and valued.

The care we give pets is EXTREMELY important to us and we look upon it as a very serious responsibility. This is why we are committed to a long list of criteria that together, and which follows, forms our quality assurance ― standards of excellence commitment.

BE PREPARED FOR AN EMERGENCY
Our professional sitters bring a pet first aid kit to each of their assignments, and each is trained in CPR and has a first aid certificate. In addition to providing these kits to our team members, we’ve begun selling them. This deluxe pet first aid kit includes over 40 veterinarian-recommended items stored in a convenient green waterproof canvas case. It is specifically designed for animal care and is perfect for anyone with a cat or dog. Click here to order one or more today!

We continue to work to improve our website and are pleased to say it now serves as a one-stop shop for the following services reservations, quote requests, service ratings, and electronic payments.

We’re recruiting for assignments Downtown, Orleans, Kanata and South Keys to accommodate the many requests for services in those communities. If you know of anyone interested to join our team, please ask them to apply online. We hope to be able to announce new team members soon!

We’re contemplating a new service and are taking this informal poll to gauge interest. Would you be interested to view your precious pets in action while you are away from home through a live, in-home temporary webcam service?

CamNet has developed a camera plug-and-play system that could allow clients of Loving Paws & House Sitting to check-in on their pets while away from home. Cameras are easy to set up, and provide a live video feed from insideyour home! Once installed, and using a Loving Paws & House Sittingissued username and password, you would only need to log in at www.MyPetSitterCam.com from any computer that has Internet access. Please let us know if this is a service that would interest you.
