John Clements– As Louise’s mum had passed away they are now both orphans living at Normanville. They are going for long walks and catching up with housekeeping. Their son, Tristan is coming from Rockhampton to Adelaide and they are looking forward to his visit. Last Thursday he assisted the school rowing club by towing boats from Berri to Adelaide. All together he travelled over 700 km.

Service and Project Ideas

John Clements spoke about the spreadsheets he had prepared, including an archives page and a page listing future projects for the club to undertake. He asked for all members to assist with input to develop this further. He asked members to send an email to him identifying “signature events” which theclub could participated in on an annual basis, such as the Henley on Todd Regatta in Alice Springs, the Fun Run with Thomas at Gembrook and assisting the Rotary Club of Chinchilla.

Greg Fallon reminded the members that the Rotary Nomads are unique and that the members need to work together to make these service projects successful. He asked members to notify him or Geoff St. Clair of potential opportunities for community service.

Phil Hughes advised that he would be at Mt. Isa for the Rodeo next year. He requested information about organising BBQs at Bunnings and Masters in South Australia.

Kathlyn Rowlands talked about Rotary Club BBQ trailers and suggested it could be considered for the Nomads.

Colin Gard advised that he had arranged for IVECO Coffs Harbour to provide corporate sponsorship for the Nomads at the Relay for Life next May. He suggested that members could seek similar support for other Nomads community service projects.
