Courses:
Attentional Difficulties- Awareness, Management and Prevention: This half day workshopis for teachers and TAs in Key Stages 1&2. This training has been designed and will be delivered by Nick Connell. Attendees will find out what attentional difficulties and disorders are and the impact they can have on learning. Attendees will also consider a range of management strategies for supporting children with attentional difficulties and their families and carers.

Mastery in Mathematics:
Following the huge success of this course in November we have been asked to offer this training day again
This training day will be led by Claire Williams, SLE for mathematics. The day
is designed with NQTs and RQTs in mind but is entirely suitable for more experienced teachers.
The day will focus on: the mastery curriculum. It will explore the Singapore Maths Approach and Introduce
and plan mastery questions and activities in maths lessons.

Observing and Capturing Learning in the Early Years: This half day course is for teachers and practitioners in Early Years. The course will consider: why it’s important to observe children, what to look for when observing, whether observations match assessments and how to record observations.

A One Day Introduction to Counselling Skills: This full day course is delivered by Sharon Lawrence from Chapters Counselling. This course was first delivered in February and is being offered again following requests from schools. This is a good opportunity to explore how to develop genuine and effective relationships across your school community. Delegates will learn how to actively listen to children, young people and colleagues; how to develop genuine and empathic relationships; how to deal with heightened emotional states and how to recognize blocks to communication. This course is for all educational professionals.

Working in Greater Depth in Reading: This half day course is for teachers and TAs in Years 2 and 6. Delegates will explore the application of pedagogical approaches to increase challenge; use feedback, extension activities and high quality literature to develop the more able and apply comprehension strategies to maximize the 110 plus scaled score.

Ofsted Briefing Session: This half day workshop will be led by Dominic Brown, Headteacher of Ramshaw Primary School and St Chad’s Primary School, LLE and Ofsted inspector. Dominic will guide attendees through the inspection process helping them to understand what the inspection team are looking at and for so that they can focus on the important, prioritise the urgent and ensure the best outcome for the school and themselves.
