REGISTRATION PROCEDURE for ESL CLASSES

If you are a new or a returning student, please complete the following steps to enroll in ESL classes:

1.  Do you have an EMAIL ADDRESS? Yes [ ] No [ ]

§  If you do not have an email address, you need to create one.

2.  What is your residency status in this country?

§  Are you a US citizen? Yes [ ] No [ ]

§  Are you a permanent resident or a temporary resident? Yes [ ] No [ ]

If you are a permanent or temporary resident, you need to bring your resident alien card.

§  Do you have any other kind of visa? Yes [ ] No [ ] What visa do you have? ______

3.  After answering the 2 questions above, get help to complete your OpenCCC Account and your LBCC application for admissions online located at: https://www.opencccapply.net/

4.  Immediately after submitting your OpenCCC Account application, your CCCID identification will be emailed to you.

5.  Your Viking ID number and the instructions to retrieve your password will be emailed to you in 3 or 4 days after submitting your application for admissions online.

6.  Once you get your ID# and password, log onto the LBCC web registration site to see when your registration appointment begins.

§  If you understand some English, make an appointment to take the ESL placement test in LL206.

§  If you do not understand any English, you do not need to take the ESL test; you only need to attend a mandatory orientation or fill out an orientation waiver in order to enroll in the first ESL level 640.

8.  If you took the ESL test, what was your placement test result? ______

9.  Anytime on or after your registration appointment date, log onto the registration website with your student ID# and password at https://pscs.lbcc.edu/ or go to ESL office or Admission office to enroll in your classes.

10.  Pay your fees online or at the cashier’s office in GG103 by the deadline.

11.  To get your student picture-ID card, go to the Student Union in EE102 after paying the card fee in the cashier’s office.

12.  Locate your classroom on your registration printout and go to the class on the first day. You will be dropped from the class if you do not attend the first day of class or if you miss 20% of the total class hours in the session.

13.  Buy your books at the bookstore located in room EE103.

14.  Attend your classes during the semester consistently.

15.  Make an appointment to see the counselor in LL206 to complete your educational plan anytime during the semester.

16.  If you need extra help with your homework or need to practice more English, enroll in the ESL Learning Center located in room LL211.
