Logistics Specialist(Avionics)

PCI is actively seeking a Flight Essential Avionics Logistics Specialist to provide technical support to the AWACS E-3 Programs in compliance with ESC/EN Systems Engineering practices and processes. The selected candidate will be able work independently and with the Program/ Project Engineering Team to Identify, develop, and utilize proper acquisition test and test evaluation techniques, approaches, processes and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Electrical Logistics Specialist support as an USAF E-3 AWACS System Program Office subject matter technical expert at the command level on highly complex and sophisticated E-3 AWACS aircraft communication systems/subsystems, ground support systems, simulators/trainers, and specialized support equipment to support MAJCOM and subordinate units. Incumbent provides SPM/CE /MAJCOM functional managers resolutions and enhancement advice to highly complex system problems.
- Advises senior leaders and technicians throughout the USAF and FMS E-3 community, as requested, on methods of resolving troubleshooting problems, repairing difficult system malfunctions, research and analysis, and resolving equipment problems with long term Air Force wide implications. Analyzes/audits Maintenance Information Systems (MISs) for high maintenance drivers and use of Work Unit Codes (WUC)/maintenance action accuracy, providing RM&A recommendations to Chief Engineer/SPM.
- Authors and maintains assigned technical orders to ensure technical content accuracy and system application. Uses Arbortext Epic Editor, Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) and Extensible Markup Language (XML) to author and maintain AF technical orders and work specifications to MIL-STD-3048/S1000D and MIL-STD-38784 standards.
- Develops special maintenance procedures/training and conducts technical training on systems/subsystems as requested by the customer. Ensures Engineering and Technical Services management and specialists in the field are kept informed on technical issues, results of meetings, and conference findings.
- Writes Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) in support of inspections to correct/repair deficiencies, configuration changes and modifications. Improves processes and technical support of Air Force systems through demonstrated Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability (RM&A) initiative and Operational Safety, Suitability, & Effectiveness (OSS&E) processes in support of Commands and program/project requirements. Ensures Supply Chain meets customer needs and provides alternative material solutions to resolve work-stoppages and/or zero balance from AF Supply conditions. As a subject matter technical specialist, participates in technical reviews and conferences to provide advice on any and all technical system/equipment issues/initiatives.
- Provides technical advice while investigating and analyzing accidents, incidents, and system/equipment failures.
- Provides technical support to depot activation programs. Assures availability of parts, support equipment, technical data and work force. Reviews Support Equipment Recommendations Data (SERD) for application commonality to other equipment and cost effectiveness.
- Co-chairs Provisioning events and establishes Source, Maintenance and Recoverability (SMR) codes and maintenance factors during provisioning.
- Determines source of procurement level at which replacements are made and responsibility for repaired or condemned parts or equipment. Selects logical spare parts to maintain operational systems for the life of the weapons system.
- Assists in troubleshooting and repairing difficult and unusual problems including those which have not been previously resolved. Develops special maintenance procedures. Develops/conducts technical training for unit maintainers and operators.
- Recommends changes to maintenance practices/processes. Manages Configuration Control of assigned systems/subsystems. Tracks TCTOs through completion.
- Provides technical solutions to correct design deficiencies. Identifies assembly, module, circuit card assembly, component, etc., interchanges, and substitutions.
- Support technical teams in solving a variety of client problems related to systems engineering and program management for a specific Saudi AWACS Project/Program Systems.
- Develop technical reports, make recommendations to Project/Program leadership and work with government and corporate stakeholders to implement recommended solutions.
- Provide support to the AWACS OSS&E and certification processes.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience troubleshooting/repairing Communication systems.
- General understanding of flight essential avionics and theory of operation for the following: Automatic Flight Control Systems, Series and Parallel Yaw Damper, Flap Indicating and Avionics Instrumentation Systems, Pitot Static Systems, Air Data Computers, MACH Warning Systems, Engine Instrument Systems, Fuel Quantity Instrument Systems, Navigational Instrument Integration, Attitude and Heading Reference System, Flight Director, Attitude Warning System, Tactical Air Communication System (TACAN), Distance Measuring Equipment (DME), Marker Beacon, VOR/ILS, Low Frequency Automatic Direction Finder, IFF Transponder System, RADAR Transponder, Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS), Low Range Radio Altimeter, Weather RADAR, Navigational GPS, Control Display Units
- Knowledge of a wide range of maintenance concepts, principles, and practices of USAF E-3B/C/G AWACS specific systems/equipment and/or foreign E-3 AWACS with like systems.
- Skill in analyzing and interpreting engineering drawings, technical manuals, and technical data; and, identifying and analyzing complex technical problems and developing innovative solutions.
- Experience in DOD System Engineering policies and Procedures
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Project
- Experience with Air Battle Management Systems
- Ability to interface with internal and external clients
- Possession of excellent interpersonal skills
- Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
- BA or BS degree in Engineering
- Must have a current US security clearance.
