LOGISTICS FOR THE S.O. TRIP TO OHIO JAN 15-17 (as of 6 Jan)
Sample of trip planning for 2 teams by bus with 2 overnights and 3 days of bus-driver costs.
COSTS
* Please make out a check to schoolX for $132
(Bus cost: $3,575. Hotel Rooms (3 kids per room): $92/night. Per person total has been reduced by using some funds remaining in our SO account)
* Please make out a check to parentY for $60
(This is to cover meals, some snacks for the bus, and bowling or another activity on
Saturday night; leftover funds, if any, will go back into the SO account)
* Students should not bring much cash, but may bring a few dollars to cover extra snacks, etc.

* Note: we will also be covering food and lodging for one teacher and the bus driver
* The next two tournaments (Feb 20 & 27) are local so we won’t have bus or hotel costs
* If the cost of this trip will be difficult for your family, there are subsidies available so please ask.
>We need your checks as soon as possible so that we can have the payment complete for the hotel and bus next week. We also need your field trip form (and health form if it needs updated) ASAP
PACKING / LUGGAGE
* Pack a lunch for the bus ride on Friday. We probably will be on the road for an hour before lunchtime so we will not stop for lunch. You may bring your own snacks but we will also have some snacks and water on the bus.
* Plan for winter in Ohio! Highs average 32° F and snow is being predicted for Friday. Make sure you have closed toe shoes and pants to wear Saturday as many events require this. Layers are best as we don’t know how warm or cold the school will be.
* Pack lightly. With all our gear, the space under the bus may be a little tight.
* Overhead storage within the bus is very narrow so have a small bag for items you want to have with you on the bus. A large backpack will not fit. You can store these items in your lockers for the weekend and pick them up on Sunday.
* Students who bring their luggage to school on Friday can store it in a classroom in the morning
