LOGISTICAL INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS
VENUE
The Meeting of the Regional Subproject Management Team of the Severe Weather Forecasting Demonstration Project (SWFDP) for Southeast Asia will be opened on 10 October 2011, 0900 hours at the Headquarter of the National Hydro-Meteorological Service of Viet Nam, No.3 Dang Thai Than street, Ha Noi, Viet Nam.
Immigration and Health RequirementS
A valid passport (and visa, if applicable) is necessary for all persons entering Viet Nam.
Please contact the Embassy / Consulate of Viet Nam in your respective countries or at a nearby country for further details. The latest entry and health requirements can also be obtained from the Embassy / Consulate of Viet Nam in your country.

Arrival and transport arrangements
The Local Organizational Committee will arrange for transportation for the participants from the airport to their hotels. The Noi Bai Airport is located about 40 km from the center of Ha Noi. If you wish transportation from the airport to the hotel, please send a copy of your itinerary to the local organizers.
MONEY
Viet Nam’s currency is Vietnamese dong.
Vietnamese currency may be exchanged at banks and hotels (often at much lower rates); however, you will receive a more favourable rate if you go to one of the many authorised
money-changers (located in shopping centres, in little lanes, and in small stores - just look for signs). They are often men in tiny booths with a lit display on the wall behind them showing the exchange rate. All major currencies are generally accepted.
One US Dollar is approximately 21.000 dong. It should be noted that Traveler’s Checks can be cashed from the Banks in Ha Noi. Banking hours are from 0900 1630 hours, Monday to Friday. Participants arriving during the weekend are advised to exchange some money at the Airport.
Credit Cards
Credit cards are widely accepted at hotels, restaurants and at many shops as well.
The most popular are Visa and MasterCard.
