Job Title: Compression manager
Reporting to: Plant Director
Hours of Work: 40 Hours per week
However the applicant will be required to work those hours necessary to fulfil the job requirement.

SUMMARY
To manage the manufacturing functions to achieve agreed performance in terms of service, quality and cost. To work as a member of the Management team and to encourage the development of the operations team for the benefit of the business and the individuals with. Also to make continuous improvement a way of life rather then an initiative.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Plan the daily targets for your department, workload priorities, and handovers
· Liaise with SCM to maximise output and minimise downtime/bottlenecks
· Ensure Stock integrity is maintained throughout the supply chain process and regular audit
· Aim to eliminate the ‘Quality failures’ and maximise the value added by your team through effective DPM Monitor and implement corrective action as necessary through DPM
· Achieve levels of On Time In Full, as per customer requirements through effective use of the Delivery indicator and appropriate actions
· Manage all Kanban stock within your departments to the required standard and levels
· Manage the use of labour in the area of your responsibility in a cost effective manner ensuring all staff are bringing added value.
· Manage overtime, shift work and absence within agreed levels.
· Develop personnel cost awareness and ensure that all members of the team minimise waste
· Manage the improvement of material and consumable costs savings year on year
· Lead team to develop improved workflow, layouts and methods
· Contribute to the development of new products and processes
· Develop direct reports implementing structure and procedure to facilitate improvement through PDR`s
· Through team monitor attendance and timekeeping, taking the appropriate action in line with the company guidelines.
· Manage the training and development of the team members to meet the needs of the business
· Communicate essential information and instructions to team members including Maintainace/Setters and Technical via handovers with the use of DPM to allocate actions.
· Manage the team using a style which is appropriate to the overall culture of the business.
· Ensure that health and safety policy is upheld
· Ensure the team work to the company standards
· Establish and maintain standard operating procedures
· Member of the SHIP team
· Lead the “Lean Manufacturing” program, ensuring that the maximum is achieved throughout the delivery of this and also that the work continues beyond the training.
· Undertake any reasonable request of the Company in support of functional or objectives
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
· Work is normally performed in a typical office environment aswell as shop floor
· Physical effort requires the ability to lift items ok 12 Kg’s
· No or very limited exposure to physical risk
