MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE BOARD
Monday, July 24th, 2017

Board members present: Judith Meyer, Jeff Craig-Meyer, Jeff Cloeter, David Simmons, Andrew Prouhet
Board members not present: Lee Harden, Ron Richardson, Martin Casas
Guests present: Matt Hoehner, Gerry Kettenbach, Dana Shearman, Bonita Jamison
Topic (Presenter) / Updates, Decisions, and Action Items /At 7:05 p.m., Ms. Meyer called the meeting to order.
Approval of Agenda / The consent agenda was approved, including the minutes of the May 22nd, 2017 meeting.

· / No principals were present. Principal reports attached.
Board Matters-
Election of Board Officers / A motion was approved to re-elect Judith Meyer as board chair for a two-year term.
A motion was approved to elect Dave Simmons as secretary of the board for a one-year term.
· Open Sky Report
(Hoehner) / Matt Hoehner introduced Bonita Jamison as regional principal director. Ms. Jamison provided an overview of professional development occurring in preparation for the new school year.
Matt Hoehner provided an update on the Gravois Park building and enrollment.
Handbook / Dana Shearman presented revisions to handbook:
Family Handbook changes reflecting new attendance policies.
Staff Handbook updated to align with Open Sky.
A motion was approved to adopt the family and staff handbooks. (attached)
Board Development / Ms. Jamison gave an overview of MAP data for the region.
· Financial Matters / Dana Shearman reported on fiscal year end financials. Notes on financial statements attached.
Next Meetings / Committee Meetings
· Strategic Planning Committee- July 26th at 7:00 pm
· Finance Committee- August 21st, 7:00PM
· School Performance Committee- August (Time TBD)
Board Meeting— Sept. 25th, 2017 at 7:00 pm
