Terms and Conditions
What to bring:
Please make sure to bring with you to your lesson; a towel, bathers and goggles. A swimming cap is preferred for those with long hair as it prevents it from distracting the swimmer. The health act states that all children that normally wear a nappy are required to wear some form of aqua nappy if swimming in a public facility. Please ensure that your children are suitably attired if they fall into this category for the comfort and safety of all patrons.
Facilities:
The Chisholm College pool is an indoor, heated (26°c) 25m pool. Outside of your child’s lesson they are not permitted to be in the water. The pool has toilet and shower facilities available for use before/after lessons. Children should be encouraged to use the bathroom prior to the commencement of each lesson. Chisholm College is a non-smoking environment and the consumption of alcohol within the grounds is not permitted.
Lesson Details:
Lessons are not held on public holidays and term fees are adjusted accordingly. Classes will not run unless there is the minimum student’s required. If you are booked into a class that does not meet the minimum number of students we will offer you an alternative day/time. If it is not suitable then a full refund of any fees paid will be given.
Missed lessons and Refunds:
- Refunds will not be given for classes missed during the program.
- Makeup lessons are not available for classes missed during the program.
- Credits / Makeup lessons may be given for classes missed where a medical certificate is supplied.
- Swimming WA will use discretion in exceptional circumstances; any requests must be submitted in writing.
- All refunds and credits granted will incur a $12.00 administration fee.
All staff are trained to provide basic first aid, should you or your child require it. You are required to disclose any medical conditions affecting your child that may prevent them from participating prior to the commencement of lessons. A person suffering from any skin infection or other communicable disease will be excluded from lessons for the safety and well being of other participants and teachers.
Supervision/Conduct:
• All children under the age of 10 must be actively supervised by a responsible adult 16 years and over at all times
• A reasonable standard of behaviour is expected from Swim School participants at all times.
• Management reserves the right to suspend or expel any member/participant failing to comply with the program rules, or for conduct management deems as improper and/or detrimental to the best interests of the program.
Reenrolments:
Re-enrolments for the following term will take place in the second to last week of term. Full payment or a minimum deposit of 50% of term fees is required to secure your place. Currently enrolled participants are given priority enrolment for the following term. Please note that it is your responsibility to re-enrol. The Swim School does not automatically carry bookings from term to term.
Declaration
For the purpose of this declaration, “Swimming WA” is defined as the Western Australian Swimming Association Inc, trading as Swimming WA, its clubs and their respective directors, officers, members, volunteers, employees or agents. I acknowledge that whilst Swimming WA will exercise all reasonable care to ensure the safety of participants in the Learn to Swim program, Swimming WA will not accept responsibility for:
- any loss or damage to my own or my child’s property, even if such loss or damage is occasioned during or as a result of my child’s participation in this program; or
- any personal injury or damage (whether fatal or otherwise) suffered by me or any member of my family as a result of any act or omission by me or any other person not being Swimming WA which is or may be regarded as:
(ii)contrary to any reasonable direction or request given or made by Swimming WA, either in the course of a swimming lesson or otherwise;
(iii)not reasonably avoidable by the exercise of due care on the part of Swimming WA; or
(iv)contrary to any sign containing any warning or information for swimmers situated at or around the swimming pool where any lesson is being held;
(v)otherwise able to be excluded in accordance with the laws of Western Australia on any ground whatsoever.
- Should I/ my child require emergency medical treatment whilst participating in the program, I hereby authorise and consent to such treatment as deemed necessary, at my expense.
