1. Call to Order - Meeting called to order @ 5:30pm, with Pam Vona in the Chair

2. Quorum – has been reached, 38 in total.

3. Statement of Equality – read by VP Susan Slade.

4.Introduction

  • All members present introduced themselves

5. Approval of the Agenda. Added to the agenda was “Emails.”M/S/C

6. Approval of the previous minutes – January 4, 2017M/S/C

7.Treasurer’s Report

  • $40,170as January 31, 2017 in the general account. The miscellaneous item amount of $79 for the dinner and dance was for the helium tank and items for the games.

8. OLD BUSINESS

a.Oil Kings – February 12th

  • All tickets (200) have been sold out.

b.Jubilations – February 19th

  • Most of the tickets have been picked up. Outstanding tickets will be available for sale and then open up to others.

c.Camping at Wabamum

  • Booking at the facility will take place February 6. Anita will follow up.

d.Edmonton K-Days Tickets

  • Derek sends his regrets however send in his opinion, not in favour of purchasing tickets for K-days. Council made a decision not to purchase tickets for K-days.

e.AUPE K-Days Float

  • Susan Slade brought it forward to AUPE Executive Committee and is supportive of provided a float in the K-days parade to promote 100 years of Labour history.

9. NEW BUSINESS

a.Wing Night – March 22

  • Will be held at the Canadian Brewhouse on 9538 Ellerslie Road SE starting at 5:30pm.

b.WEM Waterpark Event

  • Sales of tickets are steady, almost 800 already sold.

c.Cineplex Movie Theatre

  • Some discussion on should EAC hold a movie day, newly released movie, popcorn/drink, maximum of 450 tickets. Price of tickets will be discussed once the theatre is booked.

MOTION: That EAC have a movie day at Cineplex theatres with a value not to exceed $7,000. M/S/C

d.Emails

  • When RSVP’ing to the meeting on the website, please also complete the status of your tickets, how much sold to date.
  • If members are contacting you at the email listed on the EAC website, you should respond to them as we are receiving lots of complains.

10.FUTURE EVENTS

  • WEM Waterpark –Saturday - March 4th, 7:30 pm – 10:30 pm
  • AUPE Wing Night –Wednesday -March 22nd, 5:30pm – 7:00pm
  • WEM Galaxyland – Sunday - April 30th, 9:00 am -12:00 noon
  • WEM Waterpark – Saturday - September 30th, 7:30 pm -10:30 pm
