Robyn Dixon-King, from leading hair salon, Flint, in Norwichhas been recognised as one of the UK’s top professional hair colourists following her success at reaching the UK & Ireland Final of the hairdressing industry’s most prestigious competition, the Wella Professionals TrendVision Award 2012, in the Color Category.
This year’s Wella Professionals TrendVision Award had over 800entries at the initial Photographic stage, with Regional Heats taking place across the country in Scotland, Manchester, the Midlands and London over the last few weeks.
Following Robyn’s success in the Southern Regional Heat on the 29th May, they are now one of only 36UK hairdressersto reach this year’s UK & Ireland Final, making her one of the country’s most sought-after and in-demand professional hair colourists.
Created to discover and acknowledge the industry’s most skilled hair stylists and colourists, the competition focuses on all aspects of hair styling and colouring, and the Photographic and Regional Heats are judged by some of the UK’s leading hair icons, including Adam Reed, Percy & Reed, Nelson Brown, Browns, Cos Sakkas, Toni&Guy and Stuart Bane, D&J Ambrose.
Each year, Wella Professionals produces four key trend looks that are designed to inspire the competition. The Young Talent Category is open to stylists under 30 years old to showcase their styling, technical and finishing skills, whilst the Color Category gives colourists of any age the opportunity to express their creativity and put their colouring skills to the test.
This year the four trends are Blaze, Grace, Celeste and Roxy and entrants are asked to interpret one of the four trends with their own personal style. This annual four stage competition kicked off earlier this year with a Photographic Entry andRobyn’s interpretation of Celeste took them through to the Southern Regional Final where they showcased their chosen trend on a live model in a dazzling evening show.
