Local charity support group for those with any lung disease, Breathe

Easy Darlington, gather at their usual venue, The Copper Beech on

Neasham Rd, on Tuesday 3rd January. The usual time, the 1st Tuesday

of every month, at 1.00pm for lunch, followed by a chat & the main

speaker at 2.00pm. This month –

- Debbie Philips (from BOC Healthcare) will present a talk: -

— Introduction to Pulmonary Rehabilitation.

This is a free course to which your Practice Nurse or GP can recommend you,

key to getting back on your feet after a stay in hospital, enforced rest at

home etc. New or Non-members, friends, carers and family are all welcome.

We are supported by the Respiratory Medicine Teams both in Hospital & Community and a charity supported by the Mayor of Darlington 2016/17

This can be followed by Weekly Specialist Respiratory Exercise courses with

a Qualified Instructor, for which there is a weekly charge.

The group continues to attract more active members; 22 of us sat down for a

lovely Christmas Meal at the Copper Beech on Neesham Road (huge portions,

tasty grub) before Christmas. The Worshipful the Mayor of Darlington

Mr Brian Jones and Mayoress Mrs Doris Jones joined us.

The chat was lively and laughter loud as usual, meals devoured eagerly. As

we finished The Mayor read a thoughtful and sobering poem especially suitable for this time of year (although applicable at any time) and had us all laughing, once again, with a few 'complaints' received by the council over the years.
