Dear Friends of Rotary,
Our Liberty Rotary Club is gearing up for itsSecond Annual Spirit, Beer (and now) Wine Tasting Fundraiser. The event will take place on Saturday, September 27, 2014,from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Catskill Distillery on Route 17B in Bethel, and will benefit the Liberty Rotary Scholarship Fund.
One of Rotary’s primary efforts is devoted to the youth of our community. Towards that end we have provided close to $100,000 in scholarships to help local students with their expenses to pursue a higher education. In addition Rotary sponsors numerous students to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA) through the scholarship fund. Last year, our Inaugural Spirit and Beer Tasting Fundraiser raised over $7,000. The Top Shelf Sponsors from last year, M & M Auto Group and Granite Associates, had our 2014 Community Service Awards given in their names. The Liberty Rotary Clubis very proud to provide these scholarships annually.
Our goal is to raise money from this event to enable us to continue to provide these scholarships to our communities’ youth. The event will feature tastings of local spirits that are distilled on thepremises by Catskill Distillery, many of which have won awards. The beers for the tasting will again be provided by local beer distributor Gasko and Meyer and local brewer Roscoe Beer, who will provide samplings of their products. This year, we are also happy to add wine tasting to our event, and are proud to offer wines from Bashakill Vineyards for your sampling enjoyment. We are also thrilled to have a repeat performance by a representative of Formaggio Cheese, who will administer a variety of local cheeses made right here in Sullivan County. Light snacks and horsd’oeuvres will be provided by the Dancing Cat Saloon. Complimentary tours of the Distillery will be available during the Event. Due to popular demand, Dennis Newberg will also perform again this year during the event. After the Event, the Dancing Cat will have live music and will provide a 10% discount on food for any attendees of the Event who choose to have dinner at the Dancing Cat.

All sponsors will have their names displayed on our Liberty Rotary Club website, as well as on the Rotary District 7210 newsletter and ebulletin which goes to all 60 clubs in the district.
