The meeting was called to order by President Jackie Nelson at 6:30 PM. She announced that ONS has sponsored “Frosted with a Twist” a program on Breast cancer that will be playing on cable throughout the month of October. Also, on the Lifetime Movie Network there will be a feature on breast caner targeted therapy October 18. The September minutes werereviewed by members and approved and seconded after motion by Amy Marker.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Martha Galek reported that she paid $53.00 for deposit slips and the account balance is $5,501.04.

Amy Marker reported that she that the December meeting will be the second week due to holiday schedules. The next meeting will be November 20.

April Dumond is collecting Pampered Chef orders tonight. She will give a report on the proceeds next month. Also, you may get a copy of the final Awards and Scholarship Guidelines from her. A scholarship has been awarded for the Institutes of Learning Conference to Robin Easley.

Edith Landers reported we have 3 new members.

Jackie Nelson reported that Natalie Griffith has done a great job getting the LRONS web site up and running. Please go to the site and see all the great things our chapter has done this year.

OLD BUSINESS:

Maureen Smith reminded members that the deadline for T-shirt pickup has passed. Therefore, any remaining unclaimed shirts will be offered to anyone who wants them.

Jackie Nelson reported that Mary Jo Wichers, executive director of AR Clinical Oncology Association, is looking for nurses interested in making oncology presentations. She wants to partner with our chapter and would like to post our meeting on their web site. You may contact Ms.Wichers at . if you are interested.

A LRONS sponsored nursing event for next spring is in the planning stages. A Saturday was preferred as best for attendance by a show of hands.
