Lisa Weinstein is currently serving at the Government Programs Quality Assurance Manager for Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey. In this role, she leads quality management compliance activities to ensure compliance with relevant governmental regulations, including Medicare Advantage, Medicaid and Medicaid Managed Long Term Services and Supports (MLTSS) programs. In this newly created role, she manages the development of processes to improve Government Programs organizational performance on State and Federal Audits for Quality Management and accreditation activities.

Prior to this role, Lisa served as the First Deputy Corporate Compliance Officer at New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation, the largest municipal healthcare organization in the country with 11 acute care hospitals, 4 skilled nursing facilities, 6 diagnostic and treatment centers, 70 clinics, home care and an accountable care organization. In this capacity she had oversight of all compliance and HIPAA Privacy and Security activities to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

Before that, Lisa served over a period of 14 years in various roles at Princeton HealthCare System (PHCS) in New Jersey including: Chief Compliance Officer, HIPAA Privacy Officer, Director of Internal Audit, and Director of Managed Care. Responsibilities included Corporate Compliance, HIPAA Privacy and Security, Internal Audit, Enterprise Risk Management, Ethics Management and Patient Rights, Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) preparedness and components of Joint Commission Accreditation. She played a critical role at PHCSto protect patient privacy and ensure compliance readiness for meaningful use, electronic health records (EHR) and health information exchanges. She has extensive experience in managed care contracting, network development, as well as budget and reimbursement. Prior to joining PHCS, Lisa held management roles in finance in several hospitals in New York and New Jersey, including two large academic medical centers.

Lisa has been a member of HFMA for more than twenty years is currently the Co-Chairperson for the CARE Forum (Compliance, Audit, Risk and Ethics) for the New Jersey Chapter.She previously served as Chair of the Finance and Education Committees. Prior to that, Lisa was on the NJ HFMA Board for four years.. She has received many HFMA awards including the Founders Medal of Honor Award in 2011. She was the author of five Yerger awards for the NJ Chapter. In addition, Lisa received the NJ Chapter Achievement award in 2005. She has served as a chairperson, speaker and moderator for many NJ HFMA conferences on a wide variety of topics.

Lisa is also a member of the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) and recently became Certified in Health Care Compliance. She received her BA in Biology from the State University of New York at Binghamton and holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, School of Public Health. She was recently remarried and lives with her husband in Manalapan, NJ. She enjoys taking cruises to beautiful places especially the Caribbean.
