Sodium iodide containing radionuclide of Iodine 131 in capsule form suitable for oral administration.
The activity of single individual capsules must be selectable from the following ranges and step sizes:
Between 37 to 740 MBq in steps of 37 MBq intervals, and
Between 925 MBq to 5550 MBq in steps of 185 MBq.
Radoiactive Iodine 131 should be suitable for administration to patients either for therapy of thyroid disorders or for imaging and diagnosis.
Each order shall be delivered on-site not earlier than 1 week from the reference date and not later than 10 am of the “on-site delivery date" as follows:
§If Reference date falls between Wednesday and Saturday, delivery of the ordered supply is to be delivered two days before.
§If Reference date falls between Monday and Tuesday, delivery of the ordered supply is to be delivered on the previous Friday.
The delivery for each order must be effected directly to either the Nuclear Medicine Unit, Medical Imaging Department, Mater Dei Hospital, Malta or SAMOC (Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre) as requested. HHHhhh
Delivery shall only be effected within working hours between Mondays to Fridays. Each individual delivery must be consigned directly to a designated person or persons within the respective departments.
Deliveries outside of working hours or otherwise leaving packages unattended within the department shall not be made. In this event radioactive packages must be retained by the successful bidder for such intermediate storage as necessary until appropriate delivery (within working hours and being handed over directly to designated person/s as above) can be made.
The successful bidder and his agents and employees must conform to all applicable general health and safety as well as all applicable radiation protection legislation and any Department of Health directives which may be in force from time to time at all stages including import, intermediate storage as necessary under delivered on site, local transportation and delivery of the radioactive pharmaceutical on site until hand over of the product.
The successful bidder shall ensure that the capsule and its associated packaging conform to all applicable national and international radiation protection requirements and legislations for the international and local transport of radioactive materials.
