Lead Child and Family Support Worker

Ben Jonson Primary is a vibrant; three form entry school, situated in the richly diverse community of the Ocean Estate. The governors, staff, pupils and parents are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, creative and well-motivated Lead Child and Family Support Worker to join us.
You will have the ability to:
- Lead, manage, implement and review the strategy for the child and family work within the school
- Line manage the learning mentors and family support worker.
- Oversee the child protection work and cause for concern records for the whole school
- Identify, and address the needs of children and families who need help to overcome barriers to learning
- Support families to be the best parents they can be so that they are able to support their child’s learning and well-being
- Support parents to become more resilient and independent in accessing support and participating in school and community life (building social capital)
- Be motivated and motivate others.
- Be independent on completing work tasks and projects;
- Manage time effectively, organise and prioritise personal workload, working efficiently under pressure

- Quickly absorb, interpret and organise large amounts of information
- Be innovative and develop new solutions; being able to think outside the box and effectively plan ahead
- Be a positive and self-motivated team player, contributing to the inclusion team and wider school community.
