LIZ CROSS SHOW TEAM / EQUIFEST MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND IN HAND

Open to In Hand Mountain & Moorland ponies registered with their respective Pure Bred Societies of Connemara, Dales, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Shetland, Welsh A, B, C and D. Stallion, mare, colt, filly or gelding, any age.

In Hand M&M Final to be held at the East of England showground on the 9th-13th August 2017. Exhibitors wishing to take up this qualification will need to be registered within their respective breed society.

TSR HORSEZONE.CO.UK In Hand Finals- The two highest placed handlers in classes 1-6 with a TSR In Hand card will qualify in any in hand class. Handlers MUST have their cards signed in the ring by the Judge/ Steward, cards are available FREE from the TSR website.

The THREE highest placed exhibits not already qualified in classes 1-7, qualify for Equine Sports UK (ESUK) Grassroots championship taking place at Arena Uk, Grantham on the 3rd-6th August 2017. Qualification cards will be given and signed in the ring.

First and second prize winners from classes 2,3 and 4 are eligible. The Champion and Reserve qualify for the overall in hand Championship.

Class 5Mare or Gelding In-Hand – 4 years and over. The TWO highest placed Brood mares will qualify for the Tam O'Shanter Championship at the Breed show 15.7.2017. Best Foal to receive a special rosette.

Class 6Stallion In-Hand - 4yrs old and over. For stallions registered in the BCPS Stud Book. Stallion handlers to be over 14 years old.

YOUNG HANDLER SPECIAL AWARD – The highest placed Young Handlers (Under 18) in classes 1 –6 will be eligible to compete for this award. The 2 highest placed handlers Under 12 years and the 2 highest placed 13 – 18 years will qualify for the Young Handler Final judged at the BCPS Breed Show on 15th July 2017 The Young Handler award is to be judged on Handler Turnout, Presentation of /Pony and Showing Technique. Qualifying Handlers need not be members to qualify at this show, but will need to be full members in order to enter the final.

Overall In-Hand Breed Championship

1st and 2nd from Classes 5 & 6 and Youngstock Champion and Reserve qualify. The Overall In-Hand Breed Champion. and the Reserve qualifies for Pure-Bred Connemara Supreme Championship.

Ridden Classes

This show is affiliated to TSR HORSEZONE.CO.UK, taking place at Equifest, East of England Showground on the 9th Aug, The two highest exhibits not already qualified in classes 7-13,16-19 and 26 will qualify.You do not have to be a member to qualify or enter a final. You will receive your qualification card in the ring.

The THREE highest placed exhibits not already qualified in classes 8 and 10-13, qualify for Equine Sports UK (ESUK) Grassroots championship taking place at Arena Uk, Grantham on the 3rd - 6th August 2017. Qualification cards will be given and signed in the ring.

Class 7Freestyle Performance Ridden

Open to mares, geldings and stallions - pure, part bred and over height Connemaras. Freestyle show no longer than 2 mins to show extended trot and a canter serpentine. Riders any age. Special Rosette for the best part bred/overheight.

Class 8 Veteran Ridden

Open to mares, stallions or geldings - pure bred, part bred and over height Connemaras aged 15 years and over. Rider any age

Class 9 Junior Ridden

Open to Stallions, mares and geldings four years old or over. JOHN PATON / JUNIOR RIDDEN MOUNTAIN AND MOORLAND Riders must NOT have attained their 18th birthday before the 1st January in the current year. The two highest placed exhibits not already qualified will qualify for the Equifest Junior Ridden M&M Final to be held at the East of England showground on the 9th-13th August 2017. Exhibitors wishing to take up this qualification will need to be registered within their respective breed society.

Class 10Ridden Part-Bred and Registered Overheight Connemaras

THE HARPER FAMILY / EQUIFEST RIDDEN PART BREDS The two highest placed exhibits not already qualified will qualify for the Equifest Part-Bred Ridden Final to be held at the East of England showground on the 9th-13th August 2017. Exhibitors wishing to take up this qualification will need to be registered within their respective breed society.

Class 11 Novice Ridden Class

Open to Stallions, mares and geldings four years old or over. All ponies in Novice classes must be shown

in a snaffle bridle. Not to have won a 1st prize of £10 or more in any M & M Ridden Class.

Class 12 Restricted Ridden Class

Open to Stallions, mares and geldingsfour years old or over that have not qualified for RIHS, HOYS or Olympia in 2016 or 2017. Any suitable bridle.

Class 13 Open Ridden Class

Stallions, mares and geldings four years old or over. Any suitable bridle. Rider any age . THE HEWITT FAMILY/ EQUIFEST OPEN RIDDEN MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND. The highest placed pony not exceeding 148cm and the highest placed not exceeding 138cm will qualify for the Rosmeen Ridden Championship held at the BCPS Ridden Show 2017

Ridden Championship

First and second prize winners from classes 11- 13 are eligible. The Champion and Reserve qualify for the pure-bred Connemara Supreme Championship.

Class 14 BCPS Performance Pony Class Qualifies for 2017 Championship at the BCPS Breed Show

Section 1 - Pure Bred Ponies 148cms or under & Part/Bred & Over Height Connemara

Rules for Section 1

A snaffle bridle must be worn. To be judged as a performance class and not as a show class. A rider may ride more than one pony in each class. Previous winners may compete. Ponies enter the ring and perform a show that must include a walk, working trot, canter on both reins, a gallop and finish with a halt of 3 seconds. The show must not exceed 2 minutes. Immediately after the show, a 2’3” course of 5/6 jumps will be jumped. Marking as follows a) Style on the flat 25 marks, b) Jumping Style 25 marks, Overall impression 50 marks. Marks to be deducted a) jump knocked down – 10, b) 1st refusal – 10, c) 2nd refusal – 20, d) 3rd refusal – elimination.

Section 2 - Pure Bred Ponies 148cms or under & Part/Bred & Over Height Connemara

Rules for Section 2

The show must not exceed 2 minutes. Immediately after the show, a 2’6” course of 5/6 jumps will be jumped. Marking as follows a) Style on the flat 25 marks , b) Jumping Style 25 marks, Overall impression 50 marks. Marks to be deducted a) jump knocked down – 10, b) 1st refusal – 10, c) 2nd refusal – 20, d) 3rd refusal – elimination.

NOTE: there are nomarks for conformation. The ability to perform mark covers any obvious conformation defect which may affect a pony’s ability to stay sound or perform; therefore not committing a judge to conformation marks as in a showing or working hunter class. This is to encourage the performance rather than show pony. The competition will be judged by one judge only.

If entered in sections 1 ponies/horses may not enter Section 2 The three highest placed ponies/horse from each section not already qualified will qualify for the final to be held at the BCPS Ridden Show 2017.

Class 15Really Novice Working Hunter Pony WHP for Pure-Bred/Part-Bred and Overheight Connemaras.

Riders any age. Ponies 4yrs old and over not to have been placed 1st in any WHP class at any show. Fence Height approx 50 cms high. A snaffle bridle must be worn.

Class 16 Mixed Height Pure-Bred Novice Working Hunter Pony 4 yrs old and over.

All ponies must be shown in a snaffle bridle. Riders any age. Not to have won a 1st prize of £10 or more in any M & M WHP Class.

Ponies 143 cm & under - Fence Height: Min 65 cms – Max 75 cms – Max Spread 65 cms

Ponies exceeding 143 cm – Fence Height: Min 75 cms – Max 85 cms – Max Spread 75 cms

Class 17 Mixed Height Pure-Bred Restricted Working Hunter Pony 4 yrs old and over. Any suitable bridle. Riders any age. Poniesnot to have qualified for HOYS or RIHS in the previous or current year.

RULES FOR THE LINCOLNSHIRE AND EAST MIDLANDS AREA CONNEMARA SHOW

1.All ponies must, by the closing date of entries, be registered in the appropriate section of the BCPS Stud Book or Registers, or the Part-Bred Register where applicable. Overseas ponies must be registered in the appropriate section of their Stud Book at the closing date of the entries. Foal classes excepted.

2.In all Novice classes, ponies must be Novices on the day of the show. In the event of a pony winning a class after the closing date of entries, they may either have the entry transferred to the next higher class for which it is now eligible, or have the entry fee refunded.

3.No three-year-old filly having foaled in the current year will be eligible for the show. No mare of any age with a living foal born in 2015 is eligible for the Ridden classes.

4.No entry fees are returnable except in the case of No 2 rule above. NO SUBSTITUTION/OR NOMINATION ENTRIES PERMITTED.

5.Foals must accompany mares in the ring and be at least 5 weeks old on the day of the show and must be led at all times.
