The meeting was opened at 6:49a.m. with prayer by Bob Glenn
Foundation Board Members Present:Barry Lockard, Bob Glenn, Don Magee, Keith Miles, Alan Friesen, Jason Dworak, Michele Steckelberg, & Tom Teckmeyer
Also attending: Rod Zach, Susie Orduna & Mark Powell
Not able to attend:Ed Osborn, Jim Fay, Scott Andrews
Meeting minutes from November 13, 2015were approved. Jason Dworak moved and Tom Teckmeyer seconded to approve the Novemberminutes. Motion passed unanimously.
Interim Superintendent’s/Elementary Principal Report
Four current priorities for the school: 1) The Advanced Ed review in February, 2) Spiritual and staff development and 3) School Security and 4) Recruiting efforts for the upcoming year.
Budget Planning
- Budget planning for 2016-2017 school year with leadership team, Sue Chapin and finance committee.
- Identifying areas of priority that would be good to include in budget if the money was there:
- Specials needs support
- Bible curriculum for high school
- Technology Training & technology
AdvancED Accreditation
- Preparation for our accreditation visit is complete and ASSIST report submitted.
- External visit is February 16 & 17.
Spiritual & Professional Development
- We continue to make spiritual and professional development a priority.
- All faculty/staff devotional once a quarter.
- PLCs in elementary with Jami Spaulding and work with Gary Nunnally in secondary.
- January 18 George continues to work with faculty on biblical integration and is meeting with individual teachers to help plan and implement lessons.
Safety & Security
- Work is being done to train teachers to be on the alert, looking/listening for anomalies and preparing students to respond quickly in case of emergency.
- Lockdown was practiced.
- January 18 training from outside professionals.
- Locked classroom doors.
Recruiting Efforts
- Significant entry points for Lincoln Christian: Kindergarten, sixth grade and ninth grade.
- K for a Day--three dates set for preschoolers experiencing our kindergarten classes.
- Goal is for three kindergarten classes next year.
- Shadow students and tours are ramping up with Jill.
School Board Report
Keith Miles gave the School Board report. Setting the 2016-27 school year budget has been the focus of the Finance Committee. All school policies are currently being reviewed and updated as needed. The last time policies were reviewed and updated was approximately 10 years ago. Board nominations have been completed and applications will need to be submitted in the next two weeks. The Superintendent search is ongoing and the School Board met and interviewed three candidates earlier this week.
Foundation Financial Report
Susie Orduna gave the Foundation financial report. Year-end giving was strong and the auction transfer was also very good. Science and Technology addition expenses have begun.
School Financial Report
Tom Teckmeyer gave the school financial update. Working on tighten the account receivable policy. The Finance Committee updated the tuition discount policies forthe 2016-17 schedule by providing less overall discounts but having the goal of more families apply for the FEG need-based grants.

FEG Update
The Lord has provided another $75,000 in FEG pledges for the 2015-16 school still to be collected.
Endowment Update
The endowment balance as of January 7, 2016 was $594,805.
Christmas Crusader Newsletter
This Christmas Crusader was mailed on Monday, December 14 to 3,100 homes. The Crusader included a donor card and return envelope for partners wanting to bless the school with a year-end gift. The school received almost $50,000 in year-end gifts.
Outdoor Leadership Classroom Update
Hand rails and synthetic turf have been installed. Fencing by the elementary playground and the neighborhood entry will be installed in February. We will be trenching in the spring for the electrical and Wi-Fi needs. The goal is to spend the remainder of winter and early spring getting this area ready for our dedication ceremony on Friday, May 6th.
Alumni Night
The Alumni Night was held on Tuesday, December 22 and had a strong showing from our Alumni. Many of the younger alums and specifically the class of 2015 had significant numbers attend.
Capital Campaign Committee Report
We have received $2,868,150 in gifts and pledges of the $5,500,000 goal for the Raising Leaders in Truth Campaign. Ministry partner meetings are in full swing and continue. All but $5,000 of the 2015 pledges were fulfilled.
We made our second payment of approximately $56,000 to Brester Construction on what has been completed on the new 8200 square foot Science and Technology Classrooms. We had our second monthly construction update meeting on Tuesday, December 22. Brester Construction made good progress on the plumbing and electrical over Christmas break. Our construction contract calls for the school to take occupancy of the new classrooms and labs on August 10, 2016. Capital Campaign Committee is planning to meet again this month.
