Points to be Included in Limited Standing Admit Letter

• Recommendation for admission was made to the GraduateCollege

• GraduateCollege will review program’s justification for admission to determine admission decision
• Term of admission
• Degree program admitted to (e.g., Master of Science in ______)

• Recommendation was for limited status
• Reason for limited status (deficiency)
• Specific requirements for change to full status, including, for example, specific courses to be taken, minimum grade in each course (i.e. B or higher) and number of courses. (Note that for undergraduate admission GPA's less than 2.75/4.00, the Graduate College requires no grade other than A or B for the first twelve to sixteen semester hours of 400-/500-level coursework, unless offset by post-baccalaureate work or master’s degree.)
• Time frame within which requirements must be met. (Graduate College requires conditions to be met within two terms; for certain conditions program may require that they be met within the first term, eg. take course x and receive B or higher)
• Failure to satisfy requirements may initiate dismissal action
• Recommendation of Limited Standing will be reviewed by GraduateCollege and admission is not guaranteed until that review is completed
• Official decision will follow from the Office of Graduate Admission
• Registration and UIC Connectinformation will follow from the Office of Graduate Admissions
