About this Event
North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) was signed in 1992 by Canada, Mexico and the United States. NAFTA immediately lifted tariffs on the majority of goods produced by the signatory nations. It also calls for the gradual elimination of most remaining barriers to cross-border investment and to the movement of goods & services among the three nations. The giant leap in North American economic growth performance over the past 20 years can be attributed in part to the success of NAFTA in integrating trade and financial flows among the three countries.
