Library Snapshot Day: November 2, 2011: Archer Branch Library

Comments: “How does the library help you?”

It gives me access to information that helps me to have a more satisfying, enjoyable and fulfilling life. My brain would wither would it not be for our wonderful Alachua County Public Library system. Plus, all the librarians at the Archer Branch are super sweet!

~Anonymous

I’ve been coming to the Archer Branch for many years (15 years). Everyone at this branch is extremely supportive to me. Whenever I need information on most any subject, they are very diligent in locating it for me. Thanks, Archer Branch Friends.

~Art Mosely, Archer , FL

Occasionally I visit my son who lives in Archer. The first two times I came to the Archer Library it was to use the computers. Now on my third visit I have my own laptop. I am a writer and scholar and need to keep up with my professional life. Use of computers and free wireless has been of real help to me. The staff are very helpful and friendly. What a coincidence that I showed up today!

~Ellen Dissanayake, Seattle, Washington

(Note: Ellen Dissanayake is the author of three books:

“What is art for?”

“Homo aestheticus: Where art comes from & why”

“Art & intimacy: How the arts began”)

I drive at night and get tired of listening to the radio. This gives me the chance to listen to books that I would never get a chance to read. My three-year-old loves to pick out her own books. Return is easy.

~Michelle, Williston, FL

The library has been a great spot to get things done. The computers help with job searches and looking up other programs. They do a lot with the seniors and with anything they can help you with. They help you and any way they can.
