Library Collection Survey #1

The Library solicits your input as it plans for 1) expanding its space for physical collections, 2) purchase of additional physical and electronic materials, and 3) removing little used materials from its collections.

Those of you who have visited the Library in recent years are probably aware that we have run out of space for our physical collection (volumes). We currently have 80,000 new volumes we do not have the space to shelve, and thus are unusable by patrons. .This initial brief survey pertains to removal of physical materials that Library staff indicate are essentially never used, for which online versions are available, and if removed would permit these new volumes to be shelved and funds to be redirected to additional on-line content and books in high demand. The Library will not remove any materials for which online content or duplicate books are not available.

If you have any questions concerning this survey, please contact Pat Burns, interim Dean of Libraries, .
