  1. Staff talks

Staff talks are initiated in many of the research groups, where group leaders are responsible to make sure each employee have the opportunity for a meeting.

Regarding staff talks with the PhD students, it might not be appropriateto have staff talks with group leaders, if leaders are supervisors as well. The management group decided to bring the issue to the liaison group.

It might be obvious that the management group should have talks with the students who have the supervisor being group leader as well, though what to talk about is more difficult. Carl-Johan wants the PhD- students as a group to discuss what they want to talk about during these meetings.

It would be difficult for other people than the supervisors to discuss future career and progress within the research program, thus mostly working situation can be discussed in these meetings. These issues can be somewhat sensitive. Maybe we should also highlight the possibility to talk about more sensitive issues with example Sarah, Ruben and PhD representatives. However it can be good for PhD-students to have more regularity and it might be easier to lift issues if meetings are encouraged from management, rather than if the PhD student have to initiate the meeting.

  1. Department workshop on values

Many found the workshop interesting and constructive. Some issues might need some clarification. Especially regarding the issue of “at work” which some people think ought to focus more on how people interact rather than how they work with others.

Lund will come on the next part of the discussions on June 13th.

C-J goes through some of the plans for June the 13th and the liaison group agree that the agenda looks good.

  1. Physical working climate

Ruben and Mikaela have started to make the security round and so far the heating system seem to be a main problem.

Lamps keep turning of when people are working in the rooms.

Mikaela and Ruben will contact the house management for a meeting.

  1. SAM

Ruben brings up the SAM document which deals with both physical and psychosocial issues. The document has been left out from the group meetings for some time but should be brought back.

Work descriptions- how is the work of creating documents of work descriptions for all employees progressing? Not at all at the moment, and according to Carl-Johan one of the main problems is that all group leaders still have not attested their responsibilities. For now the working descriptions are the IPS for PhD students and the ad for the jobs others have.

A brief discussion about how teaching is going to be compensated in the future now that expected hours are removed from the study plans. This will be revealed soon.

Will there be more courses on how to act if there is some emergency?

Andreea comments on the buddy system for new employees and that seem to be working well.

The contacts with alumni need to be improved. An email list for people to subscribe to might be a good beginning.

Mikaela will update the document.

  1. Next meeting

Nothing is booked at the moment.
