Permits are required if you plan to park your car on campus and can be purchased fro $5.00 in the front office. The permit allows student to park on any LHS campusbut does not guarantee a parking space.

authorities or an agency contacted by Lewisville Independent School District, for prohibited and / or
dangerous substances, weapons and / or anything that may present a clear and possible danger to the safety
and welfare of students and staff. Additional on-campus driving and parking privileges are attached or see the
student handbook under Transportation / Parking.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

On Campus Driving and Parking Privileges

Drive Safely

All cars parked on school property or within statutory boundariesare subject to Lewisville Independent School District and Lewisville High School policies and regulations. Driving and/or parking on the LHS campus is a PRIVILEGE and therefore may be revoked. STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO DRIVE TO AND FROM OTHER CAMPUSES. STUDENTS WILL ONLY BE ALLOWED TO DRIVE TO AND FROM SCHOOL. IF THE STUDENT IS TO LEAVE SCHOOL THE PARENT MUST CONTACT THE OFFICE TO GIVE STUDENT PERMISSION TO LEAVE CAMPUS. The following is a listing of the responsibilities and rules to be followed when driving or parking on the LHS campus.

Parking Permits are required for all vehicles.

  • Can be purchased for a fee of $5.00 in the main office.
  • Available starting one week before the start of school.
  • Permit does not guarantee a parking spot.
  • Students are not allowed to “save” spots for others.
  • Temporary permits will be issued for emergency reason at no charge.
  • If you need a replacement permit, or a new permit, please come to the front office.

All staff and visitor parking are designed with white stripping and several spaces are reserved.

  • Only staff and visitors are allowed to park in these spaces. Students who park in these spaces are subject to school discipline, towing, and/or having their parking privileges revoked.
  • All others may be towed at the expense of the owner.
  • Students’ cars may be towed at their own expense and will be subject to school discipline.
  • LISD/LHSK is not responsible for any of the towing expense or the damages that may occur.

Student parking is located in the parking area on the northwest corner of the Killough campus and behind school. Please see attached map

  • Students only park in these spaces. DO NOT PARK ON GRASS
  • Students can only use one space.
  • All violations will be subject to school discipline and / or towing.
  • Any towing charges, including damages, will be at the expense of the owner.
  • If you park without a permit you will be charged and given a permit
  • OVERFLOW student parking is permitted behind the school (see Map)

Search of vehicles.

  • All vehicles parked on campus or within statutory boundaries are subject to being searched by: School authorities or Agency contracted by LISD
  • Search may be done to look for, but not limited to, prohibited and/or dangerous substances, weapons and/or anything thatmay present a clear and possible danger to the safety and welfare of students and staff.

During the school day you are not allowed to:

  • …be in the parking lot without written permission from school administration

(including during lunch).

  • …sit in, wander around, or loiter by any vehicle at any time.
  • …play music at a level that can be heard outside of the vehicle.

VIOLATING THESE RULES COULD RESULT IN SCHOOL DISCIPLINE, TOWING OF YOUR VEHICLE, AND/OR HAVING YOUR PARKING PRIVLEGES REVOKED.

The speed limit in the parking lot is 10 mph or slower. Any speeding, careless or erratic driving as decided by the school administration will be considered a violation and result in disciplinary action. Drive with caution and defensively.

Students are expected to willingly cooperate with the directions and requests from any security or school personnel. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action. Drive responsibly.
