Dear resident

Pacific Highway upgrade Sapphire to Woolgoolga – temporary closure of U-turn bay at former intersection of the Pacific Highway and Old Coast Road, Sapphire Beach

Roads and Maritime Services has engaged Leighton Contractors and Fulton Hogan to design and construct the 25 kilometre Sapphire to Woolgoolga Pacific Highway upgrade.

The U-turn bay located on the Pacific Highway at Sapphire Beach, at the former intersection of the Pacific Highway and Old Coast Road, will be temporarily closed for one week, from Thursday 13 June to Thursday 20 June 2013. The temporary closure is to allow drainage works to be undertaken.

Motorists wanting to turn right out of the temporary sidetrack, between Warrawee Street and the Pacific Highway at Sapphire Beach, will need to turn left onto the highway and travel about one kilometre to the U-turn bay at the former intersection of the Pacific Highway and Campbell Close, Korora.

A plan showing access arrangements and vehicle movements for residents is enclosed.

Electronic signs and traffic control will be in place as required to advise motorists of the temporary changed arrangements in this area.

We apologise for any inconvenience this work may cause and appreciate the patience of residents.

If you would like further information about the temporary closure of the U-turn bay or the Sapphire to Woolgoolga upgrade project, please phone the community relations team on 1800 63 63 63 (toll-free).

Yours faithfully

William Sullivan, Project Director, Leighton Fulton Hogan Joint Venture
