[1] This option is to be used in those exceptional cases when the PSC submits its recommendation for appointment to the Prime Minister for his approval.

[2] This option is to be used when appointments are approved directly by the PSC.

[3]This option is to be used when appointments are approved by the Permanent Secretary.

[5]When there is approval, in terms of the provisions of Clause 18.3 of the Collective Agreement covering the period 01.01.2017 – 31.12.2024, that the appointee may be placed on a higher salary step than the minimum of the scale, the salary quoted (i.e. the starting salary, the increments and the maximum) should reflect this.
