To register for zone volleyball each team at your school (boys & girls) should complete the registration and order forms below and email them to
Duane Konynenbelt by Friday, October 28, 2016. All forms must be typed and complete for your school to be considered registered.
· This year we are pleased to once again host the 1A / 2A zone volleyball tourney at Lethbridge College. This is now an annual event in Southern Alberta!
· Sample zone draws are on this website. If you have any questions or see mistakes on them, please inform Duane () of them ASAP.
· Final pools and schedules will be emailed and posted by November 9, 2016. Games played after Nov 7, 2016 will not be considered in the rankings. We always try to use league standings when teams are ranked, but sometimes that doesn’t mesh with other league or tournament play.
· All matches will be best-two-of-three games, the first two games to 25 pts, win by 2 pts with no cap. The third game to 15 pts, win by 2 pts with no cap.
· Ties for advancement will be broken by ASAA rules. If a team needs to be eliminated, one game to 25 pts will be played (win by 2, no cap)
· The entry fee is $150 per boys’ team and $200 per girls’ team. Checks should be made out to ICHS. Girls’ teams are charged more as they play more round-robin games. Each team receives a rebate for each game they play if there is a profit at the end.
THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW:
q Remember that each team is required to have a staff member at every game. That staff member will be responsible for controlling their fans!
q If you want to practice at LC in the weeks before zones, you need to book it yourself. Limited times are available. You are responsible for the rental fee.
q Please bring your own practice balls to zones.
q You need to provide a qualified lines person for all games. We will try to supply people for medal games.
q Bring one check (made out to ICHS) for T-shirts and entry to your first game.
q Results will be sent to all the local media each evening and posted on the website.
q Teams will receive 5 programs. More programs are available for $1.
q Coaches and players get in free all week if they bring their pass. You always need a stamp to enter the gym, even on game day.
q Adults - $6.00 / Day Students and Seniors - $4.00 / Day
q Tourney Passes – Adult $15 Student/Seniors - $10 Kids 6 and under are free.
q 1st Aid will be available from LC and the supervision staff.
