"Let All Together Praise Our God"

by Nikolaus Herman (Praise God the Lord, Ye Sons of Men)

Translated by August Crull, 1845-1923

1. Let all together praise our God

COME-ON #ALLPRAISE OUR GOD

TOGETHER

Before His highest throne;

FACING HIS EXALT THRONE

Today He opens heaven again

TODAY HE OPEN HEAVEN AGAIN

And gives us His own Son.

GIVE-US HIS OWN SON

2. He leaves His heavenly Father's throne,

HE LEAVES HIS HEAVEN FATHER

HIS THRONE

Is born an infant small,

BECOME BORN SMALL BABY

And in a manger, poor and lone

IN MANGER | <POOR | LONELY>

Lies in a humble stall.

LIES IN HUMBLE ANIMAL-FENCE

3. He veils in flesh His power divine

HE COVER WITH FLESH HIS HOLY

POWER

A servant's form to take;

TAKING SERVANT BODY

In want and lowliness must die

IN WANT | HUMILITY HE MUST DIE

Who heaven and earth did make.

HE MADE <HEAVEN | EARTH>

4. A wondrous change which He does make!

HE MAKES WONDROUS CHANGE

He takes our flesh and blood,

HE TAKE-UP OUR <FLESH | BLOOD>

And He conceals for sinners' sake

FOR US SINNERS | HE HIDE

His majesty as God.

HIS MAJESTY AS GOD

5. He serves that I a lord may be -----

HE SERVES WHY? | I BECOME LORD

A great exchange indeed!

GREAT SUBSTITUTE | WOW!

Could Jesus' love do more for me

CAN JESUS HIS LOVE DO MORE FOR ME?

To help me in my need?

HELP-ME IN MY NEED

6. For us He opens wide the door

FOR US HE OPENS-WIDE DOOR

Of Paradise today;

FOR HEAVEN TODAY

The angel guards the gate no more,

ANGEL DOESN’T GUARD GATE FROM-NOW-

ON

To God our thanks we pay.

OUR THANKS | WE OFFER-TO-GOD
