- In this lesson students will learn about our Moon and it different phases.

3.3.4Observe and describe that the moon looks a little different every day, but looks the same again about every four weeks.
- Instructional Objectives (Each instructional objective [learning outcome] for this lesson):
- Student will understand that our Moon revolves around us once approximately every 28 days.
- That through out the 28 days the moon appears to take different shapes in the night sky.
- These shapes have different names.
- Instructional Procedures
- We will begin with a Picture of the Moon. Teacher will make a KWL chart with students about the Moon.
- Students and instructor will view a shart of the moon phases.
- Instructor will discuss why the moon shines in the night sky. Instructor with the help if hand held models help show how the moon gets its shape.
- Students will view video of the moon phases.
- The student will be assigned Moon observation. They will use the Moon chart to help track the Moon as they see it each night. If a student does not see the moon they may mark no show. If they forget please have them right forgot.
- Student will do this for 28 days.
- Adaptations for special learners (How will you adapt the learning/equipment for learners with special needs?)An organizer will be provided to help with note taking.
- Supplemental Activities: Extension and remediation
Remediation and extension will be offered during Study Island.com session. Student will have review session and gaming session with the information learned over the lesson. If student progressed well through program they will get the opportunity to move on to newer information.

For this current lesson there will be an informal assessment during instructor and student discussion and interaction. A formal assessment will be done using study island website. Students are scored on objectives meet and percentage correct. No grade will be taken today.
