Fill In The Blank

“The hope” is God’s ______that we will use the example of Christ to rise to the greatest level of the spiritual excellence that we are capable of ______. This is God’s ______for us, but of course we know that many of us will not get there. Still, this is the hope of ______that He holds for each of us and that we should always hold for ourselves.

The______work of Christ is that he is now ______on the right hand of God's______, there is no greater victory that can be earned in all the______. Hebrew 12:2(NKJV) says "looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." There were______phases to the______work of Christ.First, he lived a life that was pleasing to God. He said in John 8:29, “And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone, for I do always those things that please him.” Jesus Christ never deviated from the script. He left an indelible mark upon this earth by showing us all how to ______, ______, and ______the people of God.

Secondly, our Lord and Savior ______the cross and put shame to rest. He died a horrific death, it was the worse death and no other has experienced anything like it. His ______and all who knew and loved him were utterly devastated. Galatians 3:13 (NLT) tells us, “But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the______for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.” In the times in which he lived, anyone that died by ______was considered to be cursed. Can you imagine? Jesus Christ is royalty! He’s the son of the Living God, and yet he chose to endure this humiliating death for our sakes.

The third phase, the completion of his work, took place when he sat down at the ______hand of the throne of God. The masterpiece was completed! Because of the ______that Christ received after his work was completed, we now have a full picture of what______looks like. All of these steps were necessary to achieve the ultimate ______. If one of them had been missed, you and I would not have been able to have the fullness of Christ within.
