Create Your Own Quiz

Cycle 3 Project

Due: Friday January 7th, 2011

Task: You must create a short quiz for the topic of solving equations. You are responsible for creating a minimum of four (4) multiple choice questions and two (2) short answer questions. Each of these questions must be at the seventh grade level.

Task Requirements:

  • A minimum of four multiple choice questions
  • Each equation must have two or more steps required to solve it
  • Each question should have four answer choices. These answer choices should be thoughtful choices. (If a student made a small mistake in their work, what answer would they arrive at? Think of those possible mistakes and include them in your answer choices)
  • A minimum of two short answer/extended response questions
  • These questions must have more than one part. (Example: solve an equation and explain how you arrived at your answer)
  • A detailed answer key
  • Each question must be solved accurately – all steps need to be shown conveying how you arrived at each answer choice
  • If you include a written component you must provide an example of what that explanation should look like.
  • Directions and point values
